You've a wide choice in London therefore you're best bet is to use one of the hotel search engines to compare and find the best rates. First take a general look on one of them so you can gauge the prices for each area. Then decide on an area that you want to stay in and the level of hotel and search all the links I've given below comparing the rates. Sometimes it is better to go for a hotel that doesn't include breakfast as it can add 10/20 on the room rate!
Areas around Earls Court, and Docklands tend to be cheaper than central London, though companies such as easyHotel do offer very good rates for central London (though you are staying in an orange box without any windows or TV!)
My favourite hotels which should be within your budget are
1. Either of the Club Quarters Hotels - Great quality!
2. The Strand Palace
3. International Hotel (in Canary Wharf)
4. The Gresham Hotel
5. Thistle Charing Cross
Have fun searching! |

Check out tripadvisor.com. We used it to choose all our accommodations in the UK in September.
We stayed at the ParkCity in Kensington, London. It was fantastic, and only a short walk from Earl's Court Underground station. However, we paid significantly more than your budget per night. You might be able to get around that price during the winter, however.
easyHotels (allied with the easyJet airline) have very low rates. There is an easyHotel just down the street on Lexham Gardens from the ParkCity. I did not go inside but it seemed nice enough from the outside. |

The last 2 times I visited London I went through Priceline.com Both times I got a Hilton room for only $99 which is 50 Pounds. If you do try it, only settle for a 4 star....Good luck:) |

In the price range you specify, the best London hotel is the Strand Palace.
When I have loads of cash, I stay at the Savoy. But when I'm on a budget, I stay at the Strand, which is directly across the street.
The location can't be beat, as it's just steps from the heart of Trafalgar Square, and Covent Garden is just around the corner as well.
It's not glamorous in any way, but the rooms are clean and functional, and the staff are very friendly. The serve up a nice breakfast every day, but if you ever feel like splurge, you can always cross the street and pop in for tea at the Savoy.
Enjoy your trip!

There's a directory of around 400 hotels here which to help you, you can sort by star rating , price and location. The higher the stars, the better the quality.

Try the Norfolk Plaza
Good value

Ignore the rack rate on the hotels own website - I've seen it on expedia.co.uk and on lastminute.com for about half the rack rate price
Good luck - enjoy your break |

For the best English breakfast ever, try the Stock Pot near Haymarket. it's in a little side street opposite the Comedy Theatre. Full English for under a fiver - you can't beat that!! Basic but clean and fab value for money. |

I bet you cant find a hotel in Englands capital city that will serve an English breakfast. You can get a french one of waffles and sometimes belgian with waffles, but bacon, egg, sausage and tomato? Not a chance
Check the internet - loads of LondonHotels websites |

Just stayed in a cracker called the Waldorf Hilton.
Right in the main area for all the shows etc, and in answer to the person below, we had a full and I do mean full !, English breakfast thrown in, that would have cost £22.
Check this lot out for any deals |
