Revan S
My favorite hotel in York (the Queens hotel) seems to have a "limited" number of smoking rooms.

L D
There are none - it is illegal. Many of them will allow you to smoke just outside the building but that's about it.

Tony
it is illegal to smoke in any hotel, bar, restaurant, shopping centres and most places where public congregate inside in the whole of great britain..you wanna smoke you are gonna have to go outside!!!

SUE G online
no hotels can allow smoking, it is illegal in any public place

I don't know of one in York but they are available, look online. I've stayed in one..It is legal because you are paying to stay there, therefore it is your abode. Just ask for a smoking room and if they have one available,no problem.....................

k
It has been ILLEGAL to smoke in ALL enclosed public places since 1st July 2007. Any place that allows you to smoke on their premises will be fined £2,500 for EACH person on EVERY occasion. And the individual smoking will be fined £500.

Yes, as I understand it, there are none: it's illegal. As a smoker myself, I sympathise.

As for hotels in general, I'd suggest you give Marmadukes a try. It's a little pricey, but I really like it.

It's not legal anymore, you have to go outside.
