Hotels in Newcastle? |
I will be travelling from Dublin to Newcastle for a weekend in April. Will be flying into Newcastle Airport. I am looking for a hotel that I can get to from the airport by public transport and also the hotel needs to be close to public transport so i can get from Newcastle to Sunderland Football Stadium for a match on the Saturday!
Anybody got any ideas? Additional Details Its for my mam and dad! Booking it all as a Christmas present! They would be into high quality hotels so dont want somewhere cheap or horrible |

Check out the Copthorne -- airport transportation is available, they're also close to a metro station.

Hope that helps! |

The airport is well connected to the metro which in turn will be useful for travelling down to Sunderland for the match.
Hotels I would recommend are:
Jurys Inn: which is located on Scotswood Road, next to the centre for life. The nearest metro is Central Station (main railway station) which is about 5 mins walk.
Express by Holiday Inn: This is located at Waterloo Sq and on St James Boulevard. Again this is near the centre for life and the central station and is again about 5 mins walk.
The Grey Street Hotel: this is Newcastle's 1st boutique style hotel. Located as it says in the name on Grey St . its right in the heart of Newcastle and the nearest metro is Monument.
Royal station Hotel: right next door to central station, always been know for its high qualitiy.
Vermont Hotel: this is right next to the castle keep and has great views over looking the Tyne. Its close to central station and has easy access to the quayside.
Premier Travel Inn: this is located in centre near the laing art gallery. Its nearest metro is monument. |

Visit travelodge.co.uk. They have hotels all over the UK including Newcastle I'm sure. Four of us are staying overnight in a few weeks time and it only cost £19 for all of us! If you're happy with cheap and chearful then look it up. They have maps on the site too to help with directions etc. |

Look up Hotels in Newcastle and look for the address Quayside. I stayed in two nice ones there. The names are escaping me just now sorry. Its a nice reachable area with good links. There are several hotels restaurants etc. We enjoyed it. |

The railway hotel or railway inn is next to central station and has links to/from the airport and the stadium of sh*te.
Better off going when the toon are at home...
Swallow hotel is nearby in the town centre, there is one either the quality inn or the comfort inn nearby which is above Idols and good for a laugh... |
