im planning a little tek to the uk...how do they get treated by the genral public? just wondering...

btw is it hard to get a truck rental up there? i mean like 4wd... not those small European cars..

if i were to move there would it be hard for me to adjust ( i am a really American boy...meaning im used to the u.s and its ways :P) but i might not be an option for me...

We treat Americans exactly the same way as we treat anyone else. If you are polite to us we will be polite to you, if you are not we might just be a little less friendly!
As long as you are prepared to be open-minded and accept that things are sometimes done differently here (and that we don't always understand your language) then you will get on fine. We are very welcoming to people from all sorts of cultures.
(I wouldn't recommend a 4X4 though - you don't really need it and we tend not to be very keen on people wasting the earth's resouces!)

Why would you want to drive a truck on our tiny streets?

Most Brits like Americans and you will get on just fine. We Brits are generally more reserved than Americans which can be taken as unfriendly.

As said before we are a small country with many little roads, the reason our cars are not as big as yours having said that we do have 4wd available for rental. In addition to take into consideration is petrol (gas) is double the price it is in the states.

You should grab the opportunity to live in another country if it comes up, learning to adjust to other cultures is a rewarding experience and will broaden your mind.

yeh you will be fine we are no different really! There is a BIG change in the weather though! some people think americans are dumb and annoying but thats quite rare! I really like americans! I would like to move there! England is very different but you will get on ust fine!

We are not UP THERE ! we are an Island made up of England,Ireland,Scotland and Wales.
Re; your question about Trucks! Our Trucks are Massive! and used to ferry Goods about all over the World.
And we have more 4w/d in UK than anywhere else,in fact they really are not a Good thing in the way of Parking the Bl...dy things as our Roads are not made for them, they should be used in Villages where there is lot's of Farms.
The People carriers are BIG here too. and you should be able to Hire one of them quite easily.
Not a very good time to Re-locate at the moment though because of the World Crisis.
To Live here you have to apply to enter our Country now.it used to be easy but People abused the System,I remember when I went to the States in the 60s it was very hard to get into America and expect it still is.
Good Luck anyway.

You will be fine! My cuz-in-law is american and she has taken to our british way of life fine. But it does rain ALOT! :)

Do you have any idea how small roads are in the UK? You don't need a truck - there won't be any to rent and they won't fit anywhere either. It's a very small country in comparison to the US. You can get around fairly easily.

Some In the UK are very rude to Americans as they make broad assumptions based on media/films/TV shows - a sort of faux familiarity. They think they know more than they actually do. But that is rare, especially once outside London. Most people in the UK are very nice - just as Americans are. Every nationality has it's problem people and nice people.

With a great deal of courtesy politeness and respect, just like we treat each other and other visitors.

Generally in my experience, people think that American's are dumb and abnoxious...just be polite and change their minds!
Moving to the UK is fine, takes some adjustment as any move would but you'll adjust fine.
