If you are going during outside of university term time you can book into student accomodation for around £25 a night for a single bed room with shared bathroom through www.hostelworld.com |

Best bet would be the travel lodges or a B & B look it up on the internet |

There are many fairly decent hostels. The Backpackers hostel for example is pretty cheap and is nestled in just a stone's throw from the castle. Also, depending on how long you are staying, many people need extra help now that the festival is on, so you could always get a part time job. |

Try www.couchsurfers.com - where people all over the world can let you crash at their house. It's dead safe and a really good site!!!!! |

the hostels in the city centre are ok - you could try at the uni as well as sometimes they rent rooms.
if you book far enough in advance you can get a room at the travelodge/holidayinn express really cheap.
all the best |

Hi, me and my huby go to edinburgh every other weekend and we have a budget of £100 for accomodatin and for the night out and we stay in the express travel in ....... its just off the royal mile so it saves on taxis on a night out plus hotel is only £45 per room per night that includes parking aswell. hope that helps cause edinburgh is a great place! |
