How can i enter america without getting stopped at customs as i have a minor driving conviction in the uk?

Hi, I think someone is winding you up! I don't think you have to worry, because your licence is cleared of points after 4 years. I can't think why US customs would possibly be interested in your driving licence, unless you have an arrest record. good luck

I dont believe that is correct. 9 years would count as a spent conviction for most purposes.

Hi I had a TS10 (failing to comply with a red traffic light) which i picked up in 1998, i went to Orlando 2 years ago and it wasn't a problem in fact it wasn't even mentioned when i picked up the hire car, in fact i was the main driver. I recon your best bet is to talk to your travel agent, are you going with Virgin? they are extremely help full and will bend over backwards to help you, hope that helps and enjoy your trip..

My wife was rejected from the US over a dodgey visa thing and has been told the same thing about going to London or Belfast before getting in even for a holiday 8 years later! Apparently its a bit easier to cross the border form Canada. But if i were you i would go to the embassy as its just not worth getting deported for.

Moby above is right... I don't think you need worry - at least not going by my own experiences. In 1969, along with around 10 other drivers in a stream of traffic, I went through a newly designated 30 limit at around 40. Anyway, my licence was endorsed. Yet one year later I had a multi entry visa for the USA. Although that has now expired, I still go regularly to visit my American family members and, so far, the US authorities have not refused me entry to their country. On the 90 day visa waiver form, which you as a UK citizen will be required to fill in prior to landing in the USA, the questions on the form do not ask if you have been convicted of a pathetically minor traffic offence eons ago. (The waiver form questions are aimed at finding out if you intend to usurp the government of the USA, or if you are or have have been a member of the Communiust Party!) Enjoy your trip....

I'm an American, go to a embassy, and do it legitimately, trying to sneak past a boarder can get you in deep you know what, especially right now with everything that's going on.

I suggest you go to the interview like you were instructed. Why compound your problems by trying to sneak into the country illegally? I don't know about the UK, but our jail system is not a country club.
