I hate flying but I found a great website which helped me a bit plus if you try thinking of it like this .... You are in a small metal tube all that way up - PROTECTED FROM EVERYTHING ELSE THAT COULD POSSIBLY HURT YOU - You really are in the safest place you could be !
I tell myself this each time I fly and at the very least it helps me get through it.
Try the site I've listed below - hope it helps |

are you afraid of heights? You may never actually be able to completely get over your fear of flying...the best way to tolerate it more is to fly more often! |

I cured my fear of flying by not flying and have had no anxiety issues over it at all. :-) |

You should be afraid of flying. Too many people take it for granted.
You should be worried about what happens when, for some unknown reason, the plane goes into a steep dive and can't pull out of it. It happens. Planes fall out of the sky. Parts fail all the time. Sometimes entire engines fall off. The couple minutes you have to look out the window and see the ground rushing up, well, it's not fun knowing you'll soon be flaming applesauce. It's best to stay out of planes. Hope this helps you. |

Do a little bit at a time. You don't have to just jump into a long flight. Buy one of those simulator games, and practice flying the plane. When you decide to make the jump to flying, make it a short flight, like from San Francisco to San Jose. Also, take a friend along for moral support.
Besides, flying is less dangerous than driving...More people die in car crashes than airplane crashes every year... |

i flew into Gatwick England..
I would recommend a sleeping pill, I took ambien.
It knocks you out and you don't have to think about flying. |

best way is to tell yourself that you will nto be afraid and face your fear with all your guts, that works out for me during my exams |

take a pill and chill! A Dr. can prescribe a "relaxer" which will help somewhat |

Read "flying without fear" by Captain Keith Godfrey. Its a great book and written by an ex pilot. One of my friends recommended it to me as she too had a fear of flying! I haven't flown for over 8 years and I'm jetting off soon to America. After reading this book I feel much more confident about the whole flying thing! Good luck! |

Try prenending your sitting on a bus. Then once you buckle in take a nap. After a while you'll be up and then you should be over it. |

Why get over it? A nice leisurely cruise on a boat is quite relaxing, and I've always enjoyed travelling by train. |

You could take a sleeping pill while on the plane. That is what I do. |

listen, the only way to get rid of your fear of flying is obviously to fly, over and over. until your comfotable with flying.
Another way is hypnotism, i have a friend who says it works. |
