If the person in London has internet and a microphone (and speakers) connected to his/her computer you can use Skype for free. My friend in Belgium and I (in Chicago) talk by skype almost every weekend for hours. It is absolutely free download and free to use. If you want to use your phone, then you would have to pay. I know with Vonage, I just saw a commercial, for $24.95/month you can call Europe for free. Good Luck! Also, if you decide neither works for you, I have used WDT. Once you sign up, you will be automatically linked to it whenever calling long distance from your home phone. I think the rates are something like 5 cents/minute. Here are some of the website:

www.vonage.com
www.skype.com

GOOD LUCK!!!

Call 1-800-445-5667 That is london direct. Ask them for their rates.

You can try to talk to people using Yahoo menssenger, I do talk to some of my friend in Italy and Mexico. It is completely free. Of course both parties have to have computer but the benefits are great you can even see them throught the web-cam. I hope this works for you. Good Luck.

if you both have computer mics... you can both download teamspeak 2 rc2. the quality is good, and it's free. then all you have to do is set up a time to take to eachother. a suggestion if you do that... have both of you wear headphones to prevent echo's.

Skype is pretty cheap if you want to call a telephone. You can talk for free over your computer too. I use it everyday to talk to my boyfriend.

Yahoo Messenger is good but PalTalk is also good for overseas talking. Invest in a good headset as well.

Well both of you get xbox's preferably the 360's and there you will have Video Chat. $50/Year all you can talk! LOL and you can even look at eachother! W00t!

Most of the messenger services, ie: yahoo, skype, msn, etc. all now offer some form of phone service. I personally use yahoo, and I call to England land phones at the cost of .015 cents per minute, and to cell/mobile phones at a cost of .019.. My cost to call London is .01cents per minute. Thats really good rates. The call quality usually varies from sometimes being excellent, to other times a little noisy, and even lagged a bit. Overall, my calls are usually good to excellent in quality, especially to a land based phone...
