The ones who accuse you of being racist probably don't even know what that means. This comment is not meant as racist towards Americans, just the stupid ones. There are many other people from different places/cultures/religions/etc. who will say you are something-ist, sometimes because they don't realise you are just curious, sometimes because they are whatever-ist themselves and so assume that's how you mean stuff.

Thats not true anytime anyone asks a question they get accused of being something or another no matter where they are from.
In fact I have seen A LOT of hateful comments about Americans on here.

since race is a made up grouping, everyone can have a different thought about what a race is. some people group all people of color into a single race, so split them up into african, native american, asian, etc. a lot of americans are really unintelligent, so they use the word racism with just about anything. i've even been told that some believe european is a race! truly remarkable how poorly educated most americans are. i would just ignore it.

There is surely no nation in the world that holds "racism" in greater horror than does the United States. Compared to other kinds of offenses, it is thought to be somehow more reprehensible and it is.
