A bit less than one hour's drive in the rush hour, from central Cardiff (Uni) to the other side of Newport. To central Newport would normally be 40 minutes, but there is a load of roadworks by the bus station so add 10 minutes for that.
Or 15 minutes by train. |

Well, there are actually *two* Newports in Wales :-)
Like others have said, there is the city of Newport which is about 13 miles East from Cardiff. And there is the pretty coastal harbour village of Newport, near Cardigan, which is around 90 miles West. |
