About 15 miles or so....... only a short drive. I use to live in the Royal Forest Of Dean in Gloucestershire. But my husband is Welsh so we use to travel to South Wales every weekend or so. Take Care.. Cheers!

Tertia
A bit less than one hour's drive in the rush hour, from central Cardiff (Uni) to the other side of Newport. To central Newport would normally be 40 minutes, but there is a load of roadworks by the bus station so add 10 minutes for that.

Or 15 minutes by train.

Matt B
If you are going by car centre to centre then its about 15.7 miles

12 miles.

There is a frequent rail service which takes about 15 minutes.

Bus service 30 connects the two cities, every twenty minute daytimes on Monday to Saturday, taking 43 minutes for the end-to-end journey

O
In a train journey, it would take about half an hour or less. It is on;y 20 miles away

Well, there are actually *two* Newports in Wales :-)

Like others have said, there is the city of Newport which is about 13 miles East from Cardiff. And there is the pretty coastal harbour village of Newport, near Cardigan, which is around 90 miles West.

DJ Ulster
Not too far 15 - 20 miles about half and hour in a car.

drblonde
