approx 45 mins sticking to speed limit with quiet traffic

M1
45 mins to an hour

km
2 and half hours if you are going in the morining at rush hour. I know its only an hours drive if there was no traffic, but its not like that. Leave at 7.00, might get there before 9

If M8 is a nightmare, go on the loch lomond road between Balloch and Stirling and you can join the M9 to Edinburgh for there...but be warned...eveything goes fine until your 11 miles from Edinburgh...then it grinds to a halt.

If poss and on the M9 take the north circular to the zoo and go through costophine to get to the centre - Hermiston gate is a nightmare.

It is around 1 10mins but knowing the M8 and all tailback queues and roadworks, it is probably around 1 40mins

Look on the bright side.
It should take 1hr and 15 minutes for the 49.1 mile journey.
