You think London's going to be cheaper than Boston? o_O

Wow. You're quite confused aren't you? First they don't use dollars in the UK. They use the pound stirling which can be found in £1 and £2 coins, and then in paper currency £5 and above. The pound breaks down into 100 pence per £1. It comes in a 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 pence coin.

And then London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. It's well worth the trip, but expect to have to fork over a goodly amount of cash just for a decent hotel. And August is a peak tourist season so expect it to be crowded and things to be even more expensive.

But before you go, I seriously suggest you get a good tourist guide or do some serious internet searching and get better acquainted with London and the UK as a whole.

no british dollars in an american dollar my friend.

I bought US dollars the other day and the exchange rate worked out at $1 = £0.70. Currency exchange rates fluctuate day to day, so check out the rate for dollars to euros and see if its any better.

One British Pound = 0.67.4 of your American Pounds.

No its not cheap here, e.g a starbuck coffee cost around £2.70 or $4. We find America cheap, that why we sometimes go to New York for a shopping weekend.

P.s. In London prices are even dearer, so a coffee will cost around £3.50 in London ($5.20).

BRITISH POUNDS. not dollars.

Currently you will get around 67 pence for 1 us dollar
(that is the official rate - you will actually get less than that in most places).

Actually the British pound is worth more than the American pound, so there are no pounds in one of your dollars.

London is a very expensive place so bring a lot of cash, but it is also a great and beautiful city so as long as you don't empty your life savings it will be worth it.

Angel
In England we have pounds not dollars
