I have been to the summit 3 times now and its always been mist shrouded so never seen the view. How many times have you been to the top and is the view worth me making a fourth ascent if i get a clear day?
It was a brilliantly clear day the first time but within 10 minutes of being at the summit thick wisps of condensation in the atmosphere built up and formed a big cloud above us on the summit. And then the cloud absorbed all the moisture in the air from below and grew thicker and deeper until it enveloped the summit and everybody on it.
The second time it was a bit overcast but it stayed clear the whole time and the views in all directions were visible. They are good views in my opinion but not great views. It was a bit like looking down from an aircraft facing West, although the mountains and sea-scape views are good.
At one point nearing the summit I stood next to a cairn built in the shape of an open half bowl shape, which mirrored the shape of a mountain in the distance. I liked that.
There are better views to be had from other mountains tho.
