about 100 pounds ought to do it if you keep everything economical, like staying in Holiday inn, buy the weekly travel card and eat cheaply too.

i would suggest £100 a day jus incase remember london is the second or third most expensive city in world so dont be shocked with the prices (don t visit the London Eye its shitt)

fidothedog
£75 per day

i dont know
Hostel accomodation I think can be as cheap as 20 pounds, but you may want to pay more. If you want to eat out all the time, then you might want to allow 20 pounds for food too, and it depends how you travel, but a daily travelcard for all ways of travelling will cost you £6.30 I think it is...So basically you need at least £50 a day I think. Entrance to museaums are free, so thats good, but of course other things will cost you money. You can save money by just using the buses, with a bus travel card, and of course walking sometimes.... Walking around is often a good way of sightseeing... I recommentd parks of course... such as green park for seeing buckingham palace, and also a walk along the south bank.... If you like classical music, then there is often live music in the royal festival hall...also on the south bank.... I hope you have a nice stay!

It all depends on how much you want to spend. You can spend as little or as much as you want.

Accomodation
Youth Hostel £8 - £30
Hotel £70 - £1000's

Food
McDonalds £3-5
Very Nice Restraunt with lots of Champagne £1000's

Transport
Tube pass £6.30 for 1 day

You could try the Londonpass which costs £36 for one day, but includes all travel + entry to attractions to things such as the Tower of London.

Kate
You probably need about £100 a day to have a really good time. hat would include an economical lunch, similar dinner, a couple of drinks through the day, travel and enterance to a sight / attraction. There are cheaper ways of doing it as loads of places (museums etc) are free and if you utilise the tube and get a whole day pass, you can do loads very cheaply. If you want to go out at night drinking, it'll really push your expenses up as a pint can cost up to £5.

plie3824
Hotel: approx 75 per night
Tube (using Oyster card): 7 per day
Food: 50 per day

This is already on a budget. Can do cheaper but why come to London and suffer?

debzc
Budget for about £100 per day. Hostel accommodation is cheap i.e Youth Hostel Association, but you will need money for food and sightseeing. Many of the popular attractions are expensive to visit.

It would be handy to know what yer interests are.. I've thought the cheapest way to stay in London is over the weekend, by a thorough dance through the weekend.. just need a decent coat with a pocket for a toothbrush. Saturday, breakfast somewhere, nap in a park, Regents would be a good one. The weather would have to hold up. though. As long as one one could get the tickets in advance, £35 tickets, £10 water and sweets, £40 other foods, £15 travelcard, or thereabouts. plus £20 for bits and bobs:
'Course if you want three square meals and a comfortable bed that'll cost you a shocking amount..
