How old do you have to be to get into a London pub?

Okay, there is a band I like "Nat Jenkins" and they are having a lot of concerts in pubs in London, and I wanted to go to one but I don't know the age to get in one. Do you have to be 18 to get in one, even if you don't buy alchohol?

I think you can be any age to go into a pub, you have to be 16 to legally buy alcohol.
You can call up the local pubs and ask what their policy is on admitting younger than 16. Most pubs are family-owned and are more food and beer rather than strictly cocktail lounges.
Call the pubs and find out for sure.

Under the terms of the 2003 Licensing Act children of any age can enter a pub; the act ".... permits children on premises provided they are supervised by someone over 18 if the young person is under 16 years of age where the main activity is the sale of alcohol (e.g. a pub). Where it isn't then they must be so accompanied after midnight and before 5am (e.g. a restaurant)."

In a pub (i.e. not a place where food is sold) it is an offence for anybody under the age of 18 to drink alcohol; in a pub/restaurant somebody over the age of 18 can purchase drinks for anybody over the age of 16.

However, all the above is at the discretion of the Landlord, and they can place their own additional restrictions - as has aready been pointed out, some places will not allow anybody under the age of 21 to enter.

You only have to be 18 unless its stated other wise. But if you look under 21 they will id you so make sure you take your id out. Also if your asking this i guess your not that old so i must warn you only get into blck cabs. You wwill have random cars pull up asking if you want a taxi dont get in they are not real taxi drivers and you dont know what they might do. Also stay as a group try not get lost its a big place and its even bigger when you are lost and on your own,

Anyway enjoy yourself and dont do anything i wouldn't

You don't have to be any age to go into a pub by law, babies can. The individual venue may have it's own rules. You cannot drink in a pub until you are 18. Although some have restaurants where you can drink beer or wine with a meal.

.In Ireland if your under 18 here they'll let you in a pub before 9 no problem! Can't imagine the rules are much different over there!

Hope this helps!!!

You don't have to be 18 to get in a pub as they also serve food and a lot of times families eat there. But it may be different at night when there is a band playing. I'd say contact the pub to ask in advance.

you can get in if your 16 or older without buying alchol

Legally to buy alcohol you have to be over 18. You can enter a pub under that age if accompanied by an adult.
But each pub can let in who they like - if they say you have to look over 21 to enter then there is no law to stop them. Their gaff, their rules. I'd give the pub a call and see what their policy is.

According to the law I think you have to be 18, but I used to go to pubs with my friends since we were sixteen, nobody really asks you for an I.D. This was in year 1996 I don't live there anymore so I don't know what the system there is now.

I think you have to be at least 16 years old.

16 to go in, 18 to consume alcoholic liquor. The licensee or their agents has the discretion to ask you to leave at any time and does not have to have a reason for asking you to leave.

16 can get in but 18 to have alcohol

Laura
Occaisionally you'll come across an age-restricted pub. If there's a concert you want to go to then you'd be best off phoning the pub and asking about the age restriction on the specific night of the concert. If you do get in, make sure you're with someone else, you don't want to find yourself in an uncomfortable situation.
