I am afraid to say you do have to be 18 now. Since march this year they have changed it so you can no longer take your test till your 18. However, you can learn at 17. my advice is to learn as soon as you hit 17, as i am 19 and learning right now but it's a pain because it's getting in the way of more important things like studies, etc. plus i am still relying on other people to drive me everywhere. |

17, the age is NOT changing. Unless you are disabled, in which case you could drive at 16. |

At the moment its still 17. However they have been threatning for a while to say that you learn at 17 but can only take your test at 18. Or something along those lines. |
