How should someone order draught beer in a UK pub?

Is the following an expression a British native would use?

"A pint of .... please" (replace .... with your favourite beer)

Usually by its name.

eg...A pint/half of Taylors Landlord please...

And DO say please...Manners don't cost anything.

carina
yes that's right ... or you could say "a half of......please" if you only wanted only a half pint

The correct way of requesting beer is: "Verily I say to you landlord, a pint of your finest warm beer if you please".

VICKY
Yes, you would order a pint of...(your preferred beer)

'I say there. landlord (and click your fingers at this point) give me a pintof your finest Old Buttercup P***, please'

Bill Hanson
just point, and then confirm with a 'yeah'

MICHAEL D
Yes we used to be able to say A pint of bitter please, but not now as there are to many foreigners working behind the bars that do not under stand English, so we now have to point.

please may i have a pint of lager .thanks

Hibee
If in London, don't say "please". People will think you're a tourist.

"A pint of Kronenberg extra cold Thanks"
PLEASE NOTE: Since living in Australia i have replaced the Please with Thanks as it sounds so grovelling and feeble!!

((Hope people can understand this??))
