We wont get hurracaine Gordon here..what you may experience depending where you live are minor disturbances in weather fronts etc which will bring stronger winds and probably heavy rain....dont panic

It was forecast to be wet and very windy in Ireland and North West England - Birmingham should be OK.

It's just gone past us (North west Ireland) And we got the tail end of it. To be honest it didn't cause any damage, just lots of rain and we slept through it because the wind was not as bad as predicted however ... It's caused damage in county Kildare, flooding and whatever so much so they had to cancel training practice for the Ryder cup but!!! That was at 7am this morning and they were going to review the situation down there at 9 am. Hope for you you get the tail end too! It's still raining quite heavily here but not as bad as we thought it would be. Good luck!

they said it was going to hit Ireland over the next couple of days. But then again they said that in the storm of 1988. That was fun. go to the met office on line and look at your local 5 day forecast. they update there systems every 15 min

USA HURRICANES GORDON AND HELENE

The center of Gordon (front) was located near latitude 38.0 North and longitude 35.4 west or about 455 miles west of Lajes Air Force Base in the Azores. Meanwhile Helene, still a large category three hurricane, was located 895 miles east-southeast of Bermuda. EPA/NOAA HANDOUT

The tail end of the hurricane is supposed to be hitting the UK, with Northern Ireland and Scotland being worse affected.
