Well you could just wonder around n take in the sights.. But remember MOST the museums are free entry!! The Natural History Museum is quality and is at South Kensington on the Circle line.
But generaly london is pretty cool to just wonder round etc.
Would love to know how you get on....

watch you back, london a bit dodgy, lots of muggers, stick to central and u will be ok, just look after yourself as london to a stranger is a bit scary if your on your own, burger king in oxford street very tasty ummm |

Get an all day bus ticket
Eat at one of those "Eat as much as You Like" oriental restaurants near Leicester Square.
Museums are free entry. Drinking water is free at the National Gallery.
You will have about £22 left to do what you like. |

I would have lunch at Wagamama's, then go and visit a few museums and galleries, go on one of those tour buses of London and go shopping. If you go shopping in Covent Garden, after you have walked up all those stairs, there is a wagamamas very close by |

there are loads of museams and art gallerys you could check out and plenty of places for lunch but to be honist £30 wont get you to far in london possibly get you in to some museams and somthing to eat and that will be your lot |

I would wander round the city and just take in the sights. £30.00 should see you ok for eating and transport. I would advise you avoid Soho as you may go back with more money than you came with! |

ok five hours aint long.. so catch the tube to charring cross, take a nice walk past trafalgar square, go down the mall walk down to take a look at buckinham palace. this will take about an hour maybe a touch more.. then catch another tube from green park, take this one to piccadilly circus walk around there for a while take in the sights then walk to China town, you can get some good cheap food there... but it can also be expencive so look for eat as much as you want type places or go to a place called 'Wong Kei' (i think thats how you spell it) its very cheap and you'll have a laugh. the waiters are very rude.. but its always packed... the food is good too... wong kei is right on Wardour at the end of Gerrard Street. then with what ever spare time you have try going to covent garden or just walk around soho... the following links will help you get around the fist will take you straight to a map of the area the second is to help get around the tube :) have fun..

I would advise you to buy a one day travel card from any tourist cent re and move on to any tourist spot.However if you are coming to Victoria then St.James's park and Piccadilly circus are very nearby and you can enjoy testy food at Piccadilly too.If you are a book lover then go to charring cross for all old books in the world.To me five hours are not enough to see one tourist spot but best of luck to you - Enjoy London ! |

I love the British Museum too...and there is a little cafe across the road plus others on the main road (5 mins walk away) if you go left out of the museum front gate..not quite as expensive as the museum's cafe.
If the museums don't appeal and it's a nice day, get the tube to Westminster (see Houses of Parliament & Big Ben) then cross the bridge and turn left...it's a lovely walk along the river, passing the London Eye & County Hall, eventually getting to the Tate Modern art gallery (free entry to the main galleries), then continuing along to Tower Bridge. As you walk, you'll see St Paul's and "The Gerkin" across the river; the Tower of London is at Tower Bridge. Cross the bridge, jump back on the tube at Tower Hill and head back to Victoria. That walk will take a couple of hours at a slowish pace or you could speed up and spend more time in the Tate. If you run out of time, cross the river at the Tate and get back on the tube at Blackfriars station.
If money is a problem, save it by not eating in a cafe - buy a lunch at one of the shops / delis at Victoria...there are cheaper places down by platforms 16-18... and eat it along the way when you're ready (or inside the Tate). You can always have a coffee if you feel the need to go and sit somewhere. |

As long as its not raining, the cheapest and probably best way to have lunch is a take away sandwich sitting on a bench near Big Ben or the Tower of London.
As for something to do - how about London Dungeons under Tower Bridge train station -its not too expensive and quite a laugh. |

one of our fantastic museums, they are free and not far on the tube. the British museum is an amazing place you can buy lunch there in the court, it is beautiful and there are so many things there you will certainly find something to interest you, from ancient Egypt to roaman and Saxon hoards found in England from Chinese porcelain and African artifacts. old clocks jewellery collections and many other things. If that doesn't appeal then there is the Victoria and Albert, the science museum and the natural history museum, in south Kingston they are also free and you could always walk round Harrods after for a while |
