Right.. kinds to buy..... I'm an expert on this (both because I eat stackloads of it + my Dad owns a grocery store):
- Cadbury's Dairy Milk (better than the stuff Hershey's make under license in the States... so I'm told)
- Nestle Milkybar
- LION bar
- Kinder Bueno
- DOUBLE DECKER
- TOPIC
- Cadbury's Flake
- MILKA (German brand making it's way into the UK)
- YORKIE
- Maltesers
- Ritter Sport (German brand, hard to find stockists)
- Kinder Country
- Nestle Aero (variety of fillings, including mint)
- McVities Jaffa Cakes
- Tunnock's Milk chocolate Tea Cakes
- Nestle Quality Street (selection box)
- Cadbury's Roses (selection box)
- Thorntons (chain of Chocolate shops)
- Woolworths (try the "Pic n Mix")
- Cadbury's Twirl
- Cadbury's TimeOut
- Elizabeth Shaw's FAMOUS NAMES liqueur chocolates
Be careful transporting choclate at this time of year..... I recently posted some to my friend in Akron, Ohio and the damn stuff had melted by the time it got there. |

You can buy many different English brands like Cadburys and Terry's in a newsagent or supermarket - but many of those will be familiar to you in the US anyway.
For more unusual chocolates try any of the following brands:-
Charbonel et Walker (I know they sound french but they are english!), Rococco, Montezuma's (gorgeous!!!), Green and Blacks.
You can find most of these in the big London dept stores like Selfridges, Harvey Nicks and Liberty. |

By far the most popular chocolate brand in the UK is Cadbury. It is available everywhere.
There are many different varieties, but the standard "Cadbury's Dairy Milk" (which is just ordinary milk chocolate) is the biggest national seller. Its not expensive but tastes very good. It is milkier and not as sweet as a Hershey bar, which is good...although it doesn't have a very high cocoa content in it.
If you prefer a stronger chocolate with more cocoa in it, then try to find a British brand called "Green & Black"..its strong and sophisticated..a real adult chocolate! Its harder to find but is available in many grocery stores. |

I don't think you want English chocolate.can't be any good. If you must bring back chocolate from England. I highly suggest you buy some Swiss chocolate and bring that back. or if you must, try Cadbury? it's like American chocolate . Waxy |
