Wicked is the latest arrival to London. It is a musical based on the story of the witches of Oz - specifically how the wicked witch of the west became evil.
It's a real spectacle and funny too.

Billy Elliott or Chicago, although im not sure if tickets will be available for Billy Elliott so book tickets asap, Its an amazing show, moving, entertaining and worth seeing. Its beyond words!
Chicago is very lively and a great musical to be entertained by, great music and acting!

Both Lion KIng and Mary Poppins are very good. Avenue Q is getting rave reviews too for something a little different. Enjoy!

Get a copy of Timeout magazine good for inspiration on what to do and see.

Go to the West End, and attempt to see the theatrical performance of Wicked! The pre-make of the story of the Witches in the Wizard of Oz; I heard that it is really good!

Off the beaten track: Go seeing "The Dame Edna Experience" in a tiny gay club called "The Royal Vauxhall Tavern", 372, Kennington Lane (just outside Vauxhall tube station). On Sundays at 5pm - but go early, it's always sold out. If you go there you'll know why. 6£

Depends how much you want to spend. If you want to go and see the popular shows like Wicked and Spamalot you'll be looking about about £85 a ticket. www.lastminute.com has some good offers on and some including dinner nearby. if you want cheap tickets and don't mind what you see then go to the TKTS booth in Leicester Square where they have last minute deals on. Shows I've seen and recommend are:

Les Miserables
Phantom of the Opera
The Lion King

If musicals aren't your thing there are plenty of plays on in Shaftesbury Avenue and thereabouts. Last Minute will give you all the details.

Lion King has fantastic special effects and singing...acting leaves something to be desired. You won't be disappointed, though. Les Mis, Phantom, Wicked, Chicago... all are very good shows.

I'd recommend The History Boys if it is still playing. It recently came out on film with the original cast (who are unfortunately no longer touring). It was very popular, and ran for nearly four years? It's about the British school obssessed with getting the boys into Oxford and Cambridge. The boys are witty and intelligent, thanks to a teacher who quotes little facts here and there. They also have a "green" teacher who doesn't understand why the boys don't put their brains to academic use. Great display of British humour.

Why not check out Juicy Lucy and her triangular monster show,,Soho
