Dangers? It's a trip to London we're talking about here - not crocodile hunting in the Congo or whitewater rafting on the Amazon.
With all due respect, why should London be any more 'dangerous' than where you live (unless we are talking about a small village in the Hebrides)?
Just use your common sense and you'll be fine, honest!
P.S. I've lived in or around London for 52 years and never had my pocket picked.

Jazzybee
it's not that bad in london, just take car of your belongings, as there can be pickpockets, especially on a crowded tube.

Being a Londoner I can say you've made a fantastic decision to visit. It is the finest city on the planet. However it is expensive, that will be your main danger. Buy an Oyster card as soon as you arrive in London, from a tube station or newsagent. They cost £3 and then you top up with money say a £10, that will give you a few days travel on tubes, buses etc. tubes are pretty easy to navigate. Check out this website https://sales.oystercard.com/oyster/lul/entry.do it will help you save money. Anything touristy you do wont be cheap. Leicester Square being in the worst. But thats about it. Be sensible. Dont get your map out in public places. Keep your money/phone hidden as you usually do and enjoy yourself. its no more dangerous then anywhere else really.

It is very safe mate. Just the same as any city, I go into West end/ city most weekends with my two young daughters, no problem. Come to London and enjoy.

I lived in London, it's not that bad, honestly.
If you go in with the attitude that something might happen then you'll be on edge your whole trip.
Relax and enjoy it, take in the sights have a drink and a nice meal, there's loads to do.

You should be alright as long as you don't go to a hellhole of a place called Poplar.

Watch out for pocket-thieves.
Mostly at crowded places.

Don't put valuables in a back pack, don't leave your phone or wallet on a table when you are at a cafe etc. Also don't be tempted into those clubs (you know the one's I mean!) in Soho that say free when in reality men go in and get charged £50 for a drink - and get beaten up when the refuse to pay. Just be careful like you would be in any other busy city. London is a great place - you just need to be sensible - and just enjoy!

Be prepared for expensive everthing - and a lot of people who don't sound like Londoners!

eko w
well, in london you just need to worried about money. because London is the most expensive town in the wolrd. for eg. one jeans cost up to 130 pound

Depends where you are going/staying in London - certain areas have a higher risk factor than others....i'm sure it's just the same up north.

London is fine there are cameras everywhere.

Be aware that pushing and shoving on the underground trains and stations, this could mean a risk of pick pockets, who sometimes work in groups, passing their loot backwards in a chain and the last person strolling off innocently.
This is no different to Paris or Barcelona etc, just keep your valubles close to you. Zip up your pockets and use common sense.
Parking in London is a nightmare, leave the car at home!

snowwhite is right, it's all about attitude. The only thing you should worry about is pickpockets. Keep your money and bag close.
London is the most fantastic place on earth.

Shopping can be dangerous - keep away from Oxford Street although you must see Top Shop but you will want to spend loads of money.

Kevan M
RUSH, crowds, strange people, pollution, prices, quality of service, 24hr society, noise, dirt, mad pidgeons with one leg, tourists, getting lost, you know the normal sort of things in big cities

Hard luck story beggars. Pick pockets. Overpriced "theme" pubs. Backpackers (especially on the Victoria Line) who obliviously wallop you with their worldly possessions. Beer prices £2-50 a pint or more. Tourists, try and appear local (if a tourist asks for directions say you dunno you're from south of the river). And above all hang on to your train and tube tickets cos you will get hammered financially for a lost ticket. Don't tell anybody the time, they want to know if your watch is worth nicking.
