The most straightforward way is this:
Travel by coach from Heathrow Airport To Reading. It's called the Rail-Air Link. They depart Heathrow every 20 mins.
From Reading direct trains to Birmingham New Street every 30 mins at xx.05 and xx.35

Single ticket for the coach journey is £12
Cheapest single ticket from Reading to Birmingham £9 (must book well in advance. Subject to availability)

you can get another plane i think British midland fly there from heath row or national express coach from central bus station in heathrow for definite you can buy a ticket from the ticket office in central bus station also

I'm sure you can get a bus into the city center (London), then get the train from Kings Cross or one of the other main stations straight through to Birmingham. Otherwise I'm sure there will be flights from Heathrow to Birmingham too, but you really need to check that for yourself.
For train destinations and times check the National Rail Enquiries website or give them a ring. I'd suggest taking the train, it may take longer than flying but you get to see some of the English countryside :)

Get the Underground or the train to Euston (maybe Kings Cross, but they are only 1 stop away on the tube), and then get on a train to Birmingham New Street. If you get the quick train (more expensive) the total journey from when you get on at Heathrow will be about 4 hours.

eflatsharp
You get on an aeroplane which is going to Birmingham at Heathrow airport, and when it gets there, you get off.

you could look at getting a connecting flight from heathrow to birmingham or alternativley there are trains from london to birmingham or use stage coach coaches. hope this helps!

1.M4 - M5 by car
2.Heathrow express to paddington - tube to Euston - Euston to Brimingham New Street by train
3.Stagecoach buses
4.steal a horse
5.roller skates
6.Why can't you get a flight to Birmingham?
7.Why go to Birmingham in the first place - it's cr*p!

Northern Lad
Check out the trains/coaches depots and ask.
If traveling by car - buy a map

Going by coach from Heathrow will take between 2 hours 40 minutes and 5 hours, depending on the time of day and whether or not you you have to change in Central London. See http://www.nationalexpress.com/home/hp.cfm for details.

By train you need to get the tube (Piccadilly line) from Heathrow to Kings Cross and change to the Victoria line for Euston. The tube should take about 40 minutes. From Euston you can get regular Virgin or Silverlink Trains to Birmingham International or Birmingham New Street - Virgin are quicker but more expensive. See http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ for details of trains.

If you are arriving in the early morning the tube may not be running, but there will be direct night buses to Euston.

A connecting flight to Birmingham International will probably be the most expensive option, but it may be the most convenient. You need to check out how close the place you will be staying at is to the major stations/airports or coach drop-off points to get the best route.

Or train.

wow thats a long journey concidering you are taking a flight as well. cant you get a flight straight to birmingham to make your journey more suitable? any way at heathrow airport there is a bus station which run regular trips nation wide i would concider this as the better option. try this link. www.heathrowairport.com. find the telephone number call them and they will have the details that you will need it may also be the cheapest way.

Coach - directly from the airport. You can book online or purchase a ticket when you're at the airport.

i will introduce the cheapest way to go. if you don't mind taking time, you can follow this root.

this is the combination of tube(sub way) and coach bus.

first buy the coach ticket online in this website.
http://www.nationalexpress.com/home/hp.cfm
chose London central as the deperture and Birmingam as the distination. you may find one pound ticket at some schedule(if you book early).you can do it online at home. please consider your flight schedule, arriving time to Heathlow and at least one hour for subway till coach station.

second after the arrival

go to the central coach station, which is called London central Victoria coach staition, of national express(a coach company) by tube. take tube for Victoria station(tube).from there walk a couple of minutes till the coach station. you can find the way easily if you ask.

if this is difficult for the first time visit, you can just take coach from the airport to Biermingam directly.
