I am so sorry to hear of your plight. xxx

There is extra financial help for people who are terminally ill, especially if they have dependants. You should ask whoever is supporting you medically, they are sure to know.
If you are waiting until you arrive here then may I suggest you find out before you come. That way you will have a clearer picture of what you are entitled to.
Try looking up any of the charities and support groups attached to your illness.
Very good luck to you and your children.

Sorry we are full up ,,at the moment,,,

Goofy Goofer Goof Goof Goof !
Why should we the british tax payers pay to support you??
I bet we wouldn't get any benifits if we came to your country so why should we give you anything.
Stay where you are, we already have enough scroungers here without you coming.

If you're signing on at the moment in Ireland, speak to the Social & ask them about the reciprocal agreement between Ireland and the UK

i don't know how but let me tell you that it will be TOUGH.. people are living here and they find it hard just to get a normal weekly allowance, so god knows how far the housing benefit will be for a person moving from US to Uk...

... but because you are moving from another country you might be allowed into special areas of claim where others cant... either way... its tough.... or im just completely wrong.

I have been working for nearly 40 years and would find it difficult to get benefits. I object strongly to people coming here and getting help without working beforehand . PLEASE STAY AWAY!

heeeelp
Are you a British Citizen? Because I am not sure if you would get any benefits at all. If you are returning to England after a period out of the country, then you should get some help.
You would have to have an address here before you can claim and it might take some time to get things sorted.
If you are entitled to help, then you would eventually get your rent paid (dependant upon price and suitable accomodation for your needs), you should receive child benefit for the children and Income Support to top this up to the minimum allowance you would be entitled to.
You can find this information from the Benefits Agency website where benefits and allowances should be listed for you.
I hope this is helpful.

pin ball
bring your own money. why should i keep you?

john h
You will get nothing at all as you have not contributed and neither should you. You will be classed as making yourself deliberately homeless, what a bloody cheek expecting us to fund her life until she is ready to go to work stay where you are you are not wanted here

Have a look at:-

http://www.dwp.gov.uk/

You may find some details that will help you.

You will have to satisfy the various requirements for benefits but if you have been in England before any contributions that you may have made then would be taken into account.

Tip:- In any interview regarding benefits, do not try to hide any information and be truthful when asked questions. If not you will be found out and this will delay any benefits that you may be entitled to.

Go to the benefits agency website and they will be able to help you.

And please don't get all out your pram about the comments. When you start with 'I'm moving to England' and then the next question is 'how much would I get weekly' then you can't blame people for getting upset and thinking you're a sponger.

In the UK people have had enough of incomers turning up to bleed the place dry. If you had said in your first sentence that you were moving BACK to England, then I don't think people would have taken your initial question so badly.

I apologise for the horrible attitudes of my fellow Brits who seem to forget that our country is built on immigrants and that the country would actually die out if it wasn't for other people moving here.

Try looking directly on the government's website: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/index.htm
You might not be able to get anything but it's worth looking.
