Glasgow's a city with very high violent crime (due to drunks) and drugs abuse levels. the city is split between catholics and prodastants. i would serioulsy consider moving to edinbrugh instead. a lot more pictuesque, civilised and have good new year eves party

hey, im from glasgow. i see americans quite alot, especially around this time of year, and have never seen anyone having a problem! glasgow is a nice place but just watch out for the drunks!

Do ignore [S]ummer [O]h' 7 who obviously has never been to Scotland and does not even know what the people who live their are called. The Scots are very warm welcoming people who even like us English. The education system is very good, I am sure you will have a great time.

I'm from Scotland.
Where I live there isn't many Americans. To be honest, some people make fun of american accents (as well as the english, actually anything that isn't scottish). But hopefully this won't put you of too much.
There is quite a lot of things to do in Scotland. In Glasgow is the SECC (Scottish Exibition and Conference Centre), Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and King Tut's Wah Wah Hut where lots of bands play live thoughout the year. Recently I have been to see Westlife at the SECC. There is a Gallery Of Modern Art which I must say I've never been to but I know people who have and say its really good.
People from Glasgow are Glaswegian but get called Weegies.
There is a few universites in Glasgow, University of Glasgow, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow Caledonian University and University of the West of Scotland. There is also Royal Scottish Academy of Drama and Music and Glasgow School of Art.
For football there is Ibrox Stadium and Hampden Park.
Glasgow is holding the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
In Edinburgh, which is about an hour away there is Edinburgh Dungeons (I personally recommend this) which is alot of fun and teaches you about olden Scotland. Mary Kings Close, the old city underneath Edinburgh. There is Edinbrugh Zoo (not been there for years but its fun). Edinburgh Playhouse is nice as is Edinburgh Festival Theatre. There is also a lot of good universities in Edinbrugh and a good one in St Andrews.

NO.
especially probably in the UK. cause before us Canadians go anywhere we're advice to stick Canadian flags all over our bags so the Europeans know we're not Americans.

Most Scots have family in either the US or Canada . Countless US companies have operated here since WW2 - Caterpillar , IBM , Gore , Burroughs etc . Kids will integrate no problems although sports wise football is soccer or fitba and when they play with the oval ball it will be rugby and not football ! Cricket is played a lot here despite what our English friends may think !Glasgow is a great place and I am sure you will all enjoy your stay !
