At that age my daughter liked nothing better than going to waterloo and walking down the river and seeing the sites!! Getting an icecream on the way! Just keep tight hold of them the amount of tourists there is scarey!!
Reading some of the other answers, museums are best, cost nothing to get in, the Planetarium doesnt exist anymore (went to madam tussauds in Aug, cost nearly £70 to get in 2 adults one child, best book online if you want to avoid queues and high prices) |

Hamleys the toyshop is always a good bet, and the planetarium upstairs from madame tussaud's have good kid's bit.
If you are flush, take them to Legoland in windsor - a bit of travelling but well worth it! |

My daughter just loved riding the Tube! She could've done that all day! We went to Buckingham Palace and she liked that. And I bet she'll love Piccadilly, all lit up! |

London was boring.......
Picaddily Circus was the only good thing. They will like the games.
Maybe they might enjoy the London Eye.
You would be better off taking them to Disney World.
Good luck |

Hamley's definitely! You will probably end up there for ages, or spending 100s of pounds! LOL
When we went sightseeing in London, we got a ticket for a hop-on-hop-off bus and we got off at various sights such as Trafalgar Square and Buckhingham Palace and The Tower of London. Or you can take the bus for the whole circuit. On the Big Bus Company, red bus has a live tour (someone standing there and speaking) and blue bus has audio tour in various languages. The two buses go to different sides of London though. We used the red bus and that went everywhere we wanted to go. Have fun! |

Hi,
Many of wonderful places for that age, but I strongly recommend the London Eye.
Easy to get to, and just a gentle ride up to see Central London - at it's best at twigh-light or in darkness.
They will remember it their life-time.
Most suitable for 4-5 year olds, and folks of any age.
Oh, automatic photos of you on the wheel, and allsorts.
Even a cafe thing on the concourse where small children are most welcome until 9pm.
Worth a whirl !

I took my 6 year old in February!
She particularly loved The London Eye, The Big Bus Tours, The Changing of the Gaurd at Buckingham Palace (only on a Thursday morning though), Hamleys, a Thames cruise, yknow I could go on and on!
The Science Museum is great for kids, and it's free entry, we also went to The Rainforest Cafe, which is great and Planet Hollywood!
Campden Market is excellent on a Saturday morning, with excellent street entertainment!
My daughter loved the tube as well, but be careful on them!
And of course any trip to London wouldn't be complete without going to see a show, we seen Mary Poppins, then got a rickshaw back to our hotel! |
