I am traveling to Paris before London, so will I be able to use leftover Euros in London when I get there?

actually i have heard some places accept the euro in britain but its few and far between as most dont know the current exchange rate. best to get them changed to the best currency on the planet. the great british pound sterling

My understanding is that you will be required to convert your Euros into Pound.

the brits kept the pound as the standard currency, despite being a member of the EU....

Hiya. There is one store that you can use your leftover Euros and that's the famous Harrods!

Harrods accepts the Euro at the Knightsbridge Store and Harrods Shops at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.

Customers who choose to pay with Euro notes (coins are not accepted) or Euro travellers' cheques receive their change in Pounds Sterling. Note that there are no fees associated with paying by Euro.

Harrods cash registers hold a Euro conversion rate within its memory and calculates the Euro value of merchandise when payment is being made. The conversion rates are changed daily.

Credit card customers from the 12 European Union countries that have adopted the Euro may prefer to have their complete transaction conducted in Euros (rather than relying on their card issuer to convert the transaction into Euros at a later date).

There is no dual-ticketing and all merchandise shows the price in Sterling only.

A quick way to get just the amount of currency you need, is to use your bank card. You can withdraw from your account at most bank machines if you have a 4-digit PIN number and your bank is part of CIRRUS or PLUS. (Check first, some banks charge ridiculous transaction or exchange fees).

This saves having to get a huge amount of cash and then being stuck with a lot you can't use at the end.

The only panic I had was once using a card at a reststop on the French autoroute - it took 5 minutes or more, and I was panicking I would lose my card. In the end it worked, I figured out the ATM was so backward it used modems over phone, not regular network, and had to dial the local bank to make the transaction.

In big cities like Paris or London, the transaction is no different than at home; they even offer you a choice of languages first.

no, you have to take them to a currency exchange, any bank does it. The UK still uses pounds.
