Oxford is really nice and not too far to travle to. The 4 pillars hotels are nice and have a spa attached to them that you can use for free.
Otherwise you could try getting a eurostar deal to Lillle. its tons cheaper than Paris but there is loads to do and see, the hotels are really cheap and as it's France the food is great. if you go to Lastminute.com they usually have offers for travel and two nights B&B to Lille and Brussells for around £89. Plus it only takes a couple of hours to get there from Waterloo. |

Bristol.
You can visit the Brunel sites mostly for free: Clifton Suspension Bridge, Cumberland Basin and Floating Harbour, Temple Meads Old Station, the Great Britain ship etc.
Also, the magnificent Camera Obscura, Cabot Tower, the reproduction of Cabo's ship.
Excellent beer in Smiles brewery pubs (better than Young's). |

Deal in Kent is very quaint and old fashioned. Beautiful beaches, little fisherman's cottages and tiny characterful pubs tucked up backstreets called The Ship or The Anchor.
It is not that far from London and because it is not too touristy, the prices of B&B should be reasonable. |

Take her dogging! That way you get to keep the £200 quid and spend it on yourself, and make new friends! |

Just do not go to Blackpool! It is a tacky dive.
I would go to Cornwall maybe or perhaps to the New Forest.
Bath and oxford are also very nice. |

A traffic jam on the M25. You should easily get gridlocked for the entire weekend and it won't cost you anything. |

If you want to go to somewhere costal try the Essex coast it's close to London and theres lots of visitor attractions round the county if you ever get bored of the sea my personal choices would be Southend or Walton on The Naze (for somewhere less touristy) |

hi there. have you tried stratford upon avon in warwickshire? only about 1.5 hrs drive from london or on the train there are good connections. i have stayed at quite a few hotels there that i have booked thru lastminute.com - look at theie 'secret location' hotels too - they tell you the area and star rating and amenities but you only find out the name of the hotel after you have paid - i had a brilliant suite one night at a Copthirne for 40 quid!! good luck, i think you'll love stratford, its got the history, its quaint, the river, fab shops, nightclubs, just everything - take your pick:-) |

You can stay at The Generator near Russell Square within walking distance of the center of the city...it cost around 16 pound a night each and includes a cold breakfast...fabulous place that sells 1 pound draft or shots to guests between 4 and 9, believe,...people come in from all over to party on weekends..600 at the generator....if you are young you will love it..and if you like Edinburgh sometime, try the Castle Rock Hostel right in the center of the old city across from the castle..both fabulous places...for the young, hostels are the way to go...communal of course but that is what makes it exciting..I could afford any hotel but stay in hostels because that is where you find real people, and I am much older than you, ...London has many fine hostels..the Piccadilly is a real young peoples place...all need to be booked far in advance for weekends..the Castle Rock is usually booked up and cost 14 pound a night...I even met the foremer editor of a London newspaper staying there with his wife..so all classes stay in hostels... |

Try Broadstairs in Kent. (Near Margate). It's got a nice beach, a few good pubs and restaurants. It's only an hour and a half down the M2 or easily accessible by train.
I love it down there.
What about Eastbourne? It's not too full of oldies and there is plenty of good pubs. (My fave is The Nuthouse). 2 hours by car or train.
I love it down there too. |

£200.00 quid, a long week-end, she's in for a massive treat then, i normally polish off that amount in the service stations before we get to where we're going, stay at home mate, order a nice bottle of champagne, cook her a lovely meal, and you'll still have change left over to have your shoe's re- soled on monday morning. |

Brighton or the new forest, depending on what kind of scenery you are after; sea or countryside! You can get there in 1-2 hours. If you want a town/city to explore, Oxford, Bath or Edinburgh. Cornwall /Devon/Lake District/Wales are also great, but a bit further to travel which can be a pain if you only have a few days and you get delayed. Try laterooms.com for good hotel deals. |

Bath is really nice, old ruins and nice scenery. If that doesn't rock your boat, why not take a trip to Nottingham and see the sites where Robin Hood used to terrorise. |
