At this time of the year, with the weather as it is, it would be wise to pick somewhere with plenty of indoor entertainment... Blackpool is quite good in this respect, with the tower, and the shows, and there's the lights at night (are they still on?).
Bed & Breakfast is also quite inexpensive in the town. |

London.
If you type into Google, "Things to do for free in London", lots of ideas come up.
The British Museum is free.
Walking around London is good.
If you go to London, buying "Time Out" magazine might be a good idea. There are various "Time Out" guidebooks available as well, e.g. in the WH Smith store in Marylebone station.
You could stay in the YHA Thameside youth hostel in Rotherhithe (about £50 for your own room; about £20 for a bed in a shared room).
Travel around using "London Transport" - this covers London's buses, tube trains and normal trains. You can get a one-day pass which gives you unlimited travel on London Transport (costs £6.30 for the whole of London, or £4.90 for inner London only)
Enjoy your trip to the UK! |

Depends what you like. If you want lots of free museums go to London. However it is big, use the tube. It also has cool places to shop, eat, and theater. London Tower is a must see. If you like Medieval stuff, walking around York is cool. You can see most of it in a day, lots of cool places to eat and shop. Just a really unique place. Edinburgh, is a lot bigger, but still walkable. Lots of cool things to see there, old house, castle, palace, climb the crags (free), get some scotch whiskey, ghost tours. Those are probably my favorite 3 places in UK. |

I would go to the Lake District, its really beautiful, much to explore at your own pace, very relaxed and won't suck away your hard earned cash. |

There are plenty of nice places to visit.
If you like the country try: Cornwall (Town like Bude), Yorkshire, and then there is Scotland (St Andrews) or Wales (Canafvon)
Towns - try London, Leeds, York, Hull, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol,
History - Iron Bridge in Shropshire & plenty in London, Bristol, Manchester, and Lancaster. |

What do you like doing? Shopping? Clubbing? Sight seeing? Galleries? Museums? Hiking?
Brighton and Bournemouth are fun.. lots of shopping and nightlife plus you got the beach if it's not chucking it down.
Edinburgh seemed cool although I only spent a day there.
London of course has a million and one things to do if you want a bustling place. |
