I can fully understand your concern. I have a Sept 2 flight to London coming up and I am seriously considering not going. It's not the security I'm worried about - that's probably better now than it was a week ago. However I don't know how I can pass 8 hours on a plane without anything to do since I understand that I won't be able to take any reading material or needlework, or even a deck of cards or a xword puzzle and a pen or a CD player or my handheld Yahtzee or Solitaire game, etc. etc. on the return flight back to the US from Heathrow unless they ease up on these regs in the next 3 weeks. I think I will go crazy! I don't sleep well or at all on plane rides. My trip is non essential so I've considered just not going even though I don't get a refund.

Nope, it's even safer now than it was. Remember, if you cancel every travel arrangement due to the possible risks you'd never even walk to the bathroom.

I think it's fine... just don't bring carry on luggage since it's not allowed.

No, I don't think you should cancel your reservation. Just know that some airlines are not allowing carry on bags and right now you can't take anything on the plane leaving London not even books or clothes. but that shouldn't be a problem in Sept. also right now they are not allowing any bottle type items on air board

stephanieluvsla
yeah you should i mean it could have been attacked and you never know they could have a back up plan

Mom
No ,they caught the terrorist ,it will be some time before they try this again. They will change their mode of terrorism.

i think you should still go, since they caught them i bet their extra strict on security now, so theres really nothing to worry about, just get there early, like 4 hours early, cause it'll be a long process.

thats something only you can decide.
I do however understand your fears.

latina_girl
well go... U're lucky it's sept 5th. I'm flying this coming sunday to washington.. I'm scared !!!

Kelli
No, I think flying now is about the safest time because of the stricter security.

sweetie
I would be really nervous to fly right now after what just happened...Id say only go if its completely necessary
