Pubs in Stoke are apparently legal to smoke in at the moment as the council messed it up or something. Will only be till end of the month though! |

In Stoke On Trent there are several pubs which have exploited a loop-hole in the law to allow patrons to smoke until the 16th of July. They are still technically breaking the law, it is just that there is technically nobody with jurisdiction to prosecute them until the 16th. |

You can still smoke in Stoke on Trent until 16th July. This is because the council haven't sorted out an effective way of enforcing the ban yet, not because it's legal. They say they'll be sorted by the 16th, but it seems that you'll be safe to smoke until then! |

Apperantly the Council in Stoke on Trent got a bit confused and forgot to pass the right regulations so they could enforce the smoking ban. They can't take any action until some time in August when they law will be passed by the Council. Until then they can't do anything to stop people but they have said they will take retrospective action against persistant flouters. |

The House of Commons Bar still allows smoking as it was exempt from the ban. Strange that, MP's doing themselves favours, so unlike them! (well other than giving themselves a huge pay increase compared to below inflation pay rises for other public sector employees, or making sure their pensions are secure, etc etc)
Stoke On Trent has been in the news. Apparently it is now the most popular holiday destination in the UK for short break city holidays. Piss all to see there, but smokers will be happy! |

The landlord who runs the Happy Scot on Rigby Road in Blackpool said he is refusing to ban smoking in his pub, on July 1st he invited smokers from all over the country to go to his pub for a smoke in, he is currently having his case looked at by lawyers who are doing this for free to take it to the Court of Human Rights, if he wins then who knows what will happen. |

not sure about that but apparently it is legal to smoke in a tobacconists so pubs in Paris have got round the law by selling cigars in the pub so people can smoke! good idea eh? |

Some pub down south has applied to be a consulate for a small Caribbean island which would technically make it foreign soil and therefore even the rozzers would need permission to go in and that country's law would apply which also includes being allowed to smoke in a bar. I don't think they will pull it off but all credit for their ingenuity. |

Sorry dude, I don't know. But I'm answering this for only one reason and that is to tell you to give up. Better for you, better for your family, better for the environment you live in, and better for the world. |
