Marion,
Its a beautiful part of the British Isles ,Why do you think the Queen spends her summer break there. I went last year ,There isent lots to do in the Highlands but if you like Walking and Sightseeing its awesome ,My Favourite was Cullodin Battlefield with the Heather growing on it Beautiful ,and The Nevis Range of Mountains ,We stayed in Nairn ,its so laid back up there far from the madding crowd ,Mind you I wouldnt want to be on those Mountain Paths at the moment its snowing

I'm a born & bred Cumbrian but I think Scotland's a great beautiful country I went on holiday last year to Seton sands I visited Edinburgh Castle, went on the Falkirk Wheel & stood on Concorde at the Scottish museum of flight at East Fortune what was my only regret? Coming home, you have a wonderful place & Glasgow's a fine city too

CIFYACAN
Loved it when I was there last summer. We were in Port Appin area, Inverness, Sterling, and Glasgow.

anonnymouse
I do
the place itself seems to be alright, but i'm English & Scottish people seem to hate the English.
I work in a shop in Glasgow, & the amount of abuse I get for having an English accent is disgusting.

I love my country very very much.
Although people moan about the "chav" culture that's infiltrating the cities it doesn't affect me because you'll mostly find me out in the sticks, on the coast or up in the highlands taking photos.

It's beautiful and so many of it's places feels untouched it gives me that warm safe feeling you can only get from feeling like you're home.

♫ And to the northern lights
And the swirling pipes
How they make a grown man cry ♫
:o)

I love Scotland, I regularly go to the major cities for breaks, but LOVE going to Scotland in the quieter areas for the peace and quiet. Everyone I've come across as been so friendly and welcoming it's a beautiful country.
