 EARTHQUAKE!!! in the UK?
Did anyone feel the earthquake in the uk last night.????...

SophyAmelia.

I might be moving to Sussex (I'm in North Yorkshire) I'm very scared, what should I expect there?

Never been to Sussex in my life, but we may be moving there, due to a job my mums boyfriend may be offered, and I am terrified! I will have to start a new school, and it'll be nothing like back home (the Dales, little towns, etc) so whats it like there?

Also, even though it's all still in the air, it could be definite, and I'll know nobody there, whats the best way to make friends? Never been totally alone before.

Thank you.

Did you not read? I'm moving to SUSSEX, not North Yorkshire! thats where I live!!!

Again Soph!! Just try to be a little outgoing at school, you know be loud, stand up on a desk, drink coke and partay....wait that may get you expelled. When you go to a new school the best way to make friends is simply by walking up to them and start a conversation "Hi my name is Sophie and you are?", who knows you may find a person who has a lot in common with you (wow this is starting to sound corny). Best of luck little birdie

expect that no one will understand yr accent. lol, only joking we are a friendly lot down here so dont worry. instead of the dales u will have the rolling south downs, a sussex cream tea instead of a yorkshire one, u will have the sea which is nice . u dont say where in sussex im in brighton its very cosmpolitan here a lot of foreign visitors and also its gay friendly. u dont say yr age but u will make friends at school quickly im sure. good luck and anything u want to know just ask.

Sussex has its charms, but you will want to visit the Dales again often. eg the South Downs Way. Warmer climate. Nicer houses. Nicer cars. The countryside can be very pretty there too, but not wild.

Making friends is fun. I went to 6 schools. Remember them all.

Wear a flat cap, drag a whippet round on a string and say "Aye, 'appen" a lot. They'll love it.

You will be able to get to France etc very quickly, London of course too.

It will be noticeably warmer, despite not being that far further south

From what I hear, there is a fountain of Diet Coke in every home- and it NEVER goes flat.

:)

Best of luck to you- I live in the US so Sussex is as foreign as Timbuktu.

If you like walking, cycling, sailing and all sports = ace.
If you like film, shows, music = ace.
If you like good food, foreign cuisine = ace,
If you want a good education = ace.
If you want to do drugs - beware the cops are hot.
Brighton has a very "pink" area with one of the biggest gay pride parades in the UK.
Lots of east Europeans have settled here.
People are only as friendly as you are.
Some coastal towns are favourite for retirement.
