I'm an exiled Geordie. If you have any sense at all, stay in Newcastle. I lived in the London area for twenty years - it was a heap of clarts when I arrived and is an even bigger heap of clarts now. |

I take it that means you'll be using the A1(M)? Yes... then walk down the Fast lane and you'll get there quicker!!! |
|

I don't believe it!
|
Yeah but better get started now... |

I do not endorse or encourage theft, but if you stole a bicycle, you'd get there even faster. Hard times call for desperate measures, or something like that. Besides, it's not stealing if you bring it back, right? |

yes it's only about 300 miles away.but it only costs about 20 quid on the bus so i'd invest my time in working for the fare and save the leg work.you'd probably end up having to buy new shoes anyway so it may even save you money in the long run.
you wouldn't by any chance be going on a jarrow crusade would you.if so i'd stick to the dole mate cos 'wor tony' wouldn't be in cos he's on holiday. |

depends how mush you want to get to london.... 2 weeks with food and or money would be a walk in the park... just dont "Hich-hike" on a motor way ( you will get nicked ) Try The local Truck stops and ask the drivers... you never know. .. Just be "Street wise" ... and look after yourself... ok.
Be safe .. good luck. |

Yes, but you need good boots and a place to sleep along the way. You should make 3 MPH - walk 10 hours a day for 14 daya that's 420 miles. No problem. You'll just be knackered when you get there. If you come across a transport cafe on the way stop for a cheap meal and maybe a truck driver will give you a lift! |

Maybe you'd better hitch on the M1.
BritRail is of no help for you? |

Why don't you just get a bus or train there and travel in comfort. |

Average walking speed is a bout 3 MPH if you walk 16 hours a day that'll get you 48 miles per day!
You can work the rest out your self! |

Yes though you will need to average about 20 miles per day.
If you book ahead with megabus you could get a trip to london in two weeks for about £6.00 |

twenty miles a day u bee there just over a week n a bit |

If you walked 20 miles per day you would cover 280 miles in 14 days.
I guess Newcastle is over 400 miles from London so you'd have to do (say) 30 miles per day.
If you walk at the average speed of 3 mph that means walking for 10 hours per day and no rest days.
My guess is that you wouldn't do it but its possible. |

2 weeks, sure, depends on the pace you take |

Well I know I certainly wouldn't make it. LOL...I'm in Ohio in the US! Well, I don't know how far away Newcastle is from London, but you could always get a cab, couldn't you? |

Probably not and you'll probably catch a cold trying! I apparate and disapparate or use floo powder - much quicker and usually safer! ;o) |

Yeah, you should be able to do it
Newcastle is about 300 miles from London so you'd have to walk about 22 miles a day but it would be easy enough.
Pack well for the trip though - tent, food, good sleeping bag and you'll have your walk done in no time
Good luck and enjoy the beauties of England ;-D |
