Yes there is a National Lottery in the UK. But the scam company operating from a PO Box in Liverpool has stolen their name and is pretending to be the real thing.
These people are criminal gangs and what they are doing is fraud. The lottery scam is an example of a 419 scam or Advance Fee Fraud, The idea is to appeal to your greed so that you think "what's a few hundred quid?" when they ask you to send them that so as to facilitate your millions being paid you (they call it a notarisation fee or some such claptrap)
You must tell the police and kiss goodbye to the pleasant fantasy of easy money for no work. The only people who make easy money from these "lotteries" are the scam artists, They write to thousands of people and if two hundred people wire them £500 each, who is the millionaire? Them or you? |

Watch for a scam, if it is from a company called crytal lotto. They are scammers, my father-in-law was scammed by them. Cost him $3,000. |

Yes there is but i was watching a program over here in uk last night about letters sent to people over here from Canada saying they had won the lottery over there and it turns out its a big con so take no notice. |

Yes, we have lotteries in the UK. No you haven't won - it's a scam! You have to buy a ticket to win! They will probably ask you for a "release fee" - don't give them anything not even your zip code. I don't think you are allowed to play the UK lottery from outside the UK. But the site does the euro-millions lottery too. Again you can't win - unless you've bought a ticket. There is also a new Monday Lottery. I must ring them - again - locked me out of their bloody server again! |

There is a UK Lottery but it can only be won if you have purchased a ticket & they are anonymous. In order to claim you have to contact them.
Throw the letter in the bin - it is a hoax.

i severly doubt that is real...how would they have got your email...and plus thats not how the uk lottery wins...u check your numbers and make a claim, they dont just tell you you have one...and finally, we dont have dollars in the uk |

I'm afraid this is probably a scam.
Did you take part in the lottery? Many of these scams are sent to people who haven't.
If they want your bank account details on the internet then they want to take YOUR money, not give you any.
Sorry. I know this is a disappointment. It happened to me (except it was a Spanish lottery) It looks convincing. But it is very unlikely indeed. |

Yes there is a real lottery in the UK but you contact them if you win not the other way around so it's a scam anything that says you have won money on line when you have to phone a premium rate number or give them your bank details is a scam.. |

Theyre all a con, just delete any e mails you get like that! I also get some on a daily basis saying theyre from Africa and their family have died in a plane crash. They then ask me to e mail my bank details so they can transfer money into my account keeping it safe and then doing this ill profit some of their millions. A load of rubbish..... |
