Looking for somewhere to stay in city of London near Railway Station if possible. reasonably priced accomodation would be good. Any guide to a place to research would be great. One person travelling.

There's a funky hostel place I stayed once, can't remember what it was called but it was all decked out like a night club inside, very trendy and actually not bad at all. Not too far from the City as I recall.

I was there a month ago- stayed at The Ambassador near Earls Court tube stop. Not the most spacious rooms but clean and a good location. I think they are owned by Crystal Hotels. I know searching was not the easiest.
Another tip is to use British search engines- www.yahoo.co.uk but then you have to do the money conversion- right now just double ₤ rates.

Have you tried the Youth Hostels Association (Hostelling International)? They have a fairly new one just opposite St. Pancras Station. Nearby access to Euston and King's Cross stations. Also major interchange for the London Underground. Cost £24.60 (adult), £20.50 (-18 yrs)
If you want one in the City of London (a specific square mile in an area including St.Paul's Cathedral and the financial district) there is one at Carter Lane, just off Ludgate Hill by St. Paul's. Nearby stations are St. Paul's and Blackfriars on the Underground and London Bridge and Cannon Street stations. The YHA has about 200 hostels around England and Wales and about 5000 hostels in a world wide federation. A good chance to meet travellers from all over the world. Enjoy your trip.
