Hi Karla, there are times when everyone gets hacked off with things, I know I certainly do, and quite honestly, I have wished I lived somewhere else from where I do.BUT at least I know what is here, that I have people to fall back on for help.
Being ex services, I have travelled a bit, but I always look forward to coming home, whether it was our home base, or m,y own home when on leave.
May seem strange but, home is where the heart is, whether it be the base after leave or returning from deployment, or home with the family.

I've trtavelled all over the world, including Australia and lived in New Zealand for 3 years. There are some great places out there but MOST of the world is far, far worse to be in. The UK has so much going for it but if you only look for the bad things that's all you will find. Ask yourself why so many people are desperate to get here; it's 'cos they know what's out there and believe me, most of it is really bad. The people who run the UK down are born losers and will get nowhere wherever they live |

The grass is always greener on the other side, I heard on the radio recently that around 50% of people who emigrate come back to the UK within a few years as they realise they made a mistake.
What exactly don't you like about the UK? |

It's easy to forget that a lot of the things we take for granted in the UK just don't happen abroad. We take it for granted that if we injure ourselves we can just hop down to casualty for free. Not so overseas. Just think about what we have before you toss it away. Plus all the good countries need work visas which they won't give you unless you can prove you can do a job which can't be done by a local person or have an immediate member of your family willing to support you there. |

I agree with your sentiment but just be aware the grass is not always greener
Those who think Spain is the great escape. The coasts of Spain now resemble the worst traits of the UK its packed with chavs who moved out there and most of them were the people you hate in the UK
Australia- going rapidly the same way, scores of naff british chavs moving there and be warned the OZ Govt is very very pro asian immigration and anti Europeans, so you wont escape much going there.
Canada-new zealand in parts still ok, but remote with little happening but sadly also going the same was as OZve an issue with lazy eastern european gangsters well, i have news for you there are more in Spain and Portugal than we have here and they are moving on mass to OZ, USA and Canada.
In New York, Eastern Europe immigrants are now linked to rising crime in areas where the crime had been levelled out.
And if you ha
It really is not the shangri la you might think.
Better to stay here and get this Labour Goivt out, a govt so stupid that theys still cant see it yet its plastered all over the electorate PEOPLE ARE GETTING TORED OF IMMIGTATION AND BENEFITS CHEATERS AND CRIME so if they cant address it well then good becuase at the next election there will be a rout. |

At the moment I have a love/hate relationship with the UK. There are parts which I absolutely detest about the place, I'm working my **** off and getting kicked in the teeth by a non-elected Prime Minister, but there are more things I love about it. We're just under bad management at the moment, give it a while we'll be back on track. When we go abroad, it doesn't matter what if you are English, Welsh or Scottish, we all come together as one element, we are all British, and still to this day foreigners stand up and take notice when you mention you are from this noble club. |

Well Karla, all I can say "better the devil you know than the one you don't". I live abroad, it was great, but it is not so easy when you encounter health problems or even financial problems. Our systems may not be the best for us but we do have some redeeming features. Australia cannot be that good because if it was what are all the Aussies doing over here? |

I tried moving away, I came back after 2 years. Trust me any country that you care to move to has its own problems just as we have ours. It might be a craphole. But its our craphole. |

well, why do you want to leave?
if your general attitude is that everything is rubbish - then that attitude is going to go with you if you go to australia!!!
my partner moved from britain to australia about five years ago, on his own. things have not been easy for him, as far as settling in. it was a huge lifestyle change.
if i were you, i'd ask what it is about the uk which sucks and work out if those problems will be in australia too. |

I LOVE all the people saying they want to move to another country because of 'all the immigrants'
Does it really not cross their mind that they will be the immigrant if they do that?
Do they not wonder if the locals will want to move to get away from them? |

Have to agree the weathers depressing, And everywhere you look there's a Polish Delicatessen or pol-ski smak as they like to call it. Or worse still a Romanian selling the big issue. Not much to like when I put it like that. |
