Newquay is just about THE most commercial (and unbearable) place to go in the South West.

lisaviduka
Peranporth in cornwall,i went there last year, it was amazing!!!

Paul H
17 beaches on the Isle of Wight.
All clean.
Weather likely to be the best in UK at any given time.

go to bamburgh in northumberland the area is of outstanding beauty and just a few minutes away from holy island a real haven of tranquility the beaches are beautiful white sand with giant sand dunes and go on for miles .

Pedestal42
Beaches, shops bars but nothing commercial: there's a certain tension here.

I'd suggest the Perranporth/Crantock* side of Newquay.
Rather less overrun than Newquay, which has everything, but is heaving, seething, with people, but still within striking distance of various attractions should the weather turn:
Newquay aquarium, zoo, Lappa Valley, and a range of theme park style venues.

*Crantock Beach is incredible but has no facilities except the toilets at the carpark.

Black rock sands in North Wales. You can park on the beach.

We allegedly have the best beaches on the North East coast but not necessarily the best weather.

tabitha
devon, dorset, north wales.

I am St☮ned ;)
weston super mare is nice !

I recommend to you the unspoilt Isle of Bute, with one beach which has 200 seals. There are castles, a Stately Home, prehistoric sites and Standing Stones, lots of baby lamba and wild deer. Empty lanes and empty beaches. Have a BBQ on the beach...you'll love it as the scenery is staggeringly beautiful.

I would recommend Dorset or Cornwall (particularly Newquay)
