We can never be 100% sure of anything in this life. But what I will say is that we CANNOT let fear of terrorism ruin or impact on our everyday lives, if we do that THEY have won. It makes me furious to think that these deluded people can try and control MY life in MY city. B***ocks to them.

The one thing after July 7th that warmed myheart was the WE ARE NOT AFRAID website. Go to Selfidges, enjoy yourself, and don't dwell on what may or may not happen.

Just keep thinking up yours, this is my home and you won't change my life.

the_moma
as safe as any journey anywhere in the world

Marky
Terrorist bombs have gone off in Glasgow (recently), Manchester, Guildford, Birmingham, Warrington.

The last 4 may be a few years ago and by the IRA, but terrorists like to strike where unexpected.

Life goes on - Londoners are made of sterner stuff, and don;t cower away.

duck surprise
I would imagine the odds of being blown up are akin to the odds of being electrocuted using the kettle, or being knocked down crossing the road, or falling out of the sky in a plane, or sinking in a boat. In other words, life is full of minimal risks; get on with it and don't be intimidated by scum.

madpol1
Yes. Arab terrorists are pretty lame off their own turf. The last effective terrorist acts in England were the tube bombings of '05. The IRA was much better at it and even they didn't kill a lot of people.

Just watch out for the common crooks and you'll be ok. Your ancestors had to deal with buzz bombs and the blitz. And that didn't keep them away from the good sales. Terrorist threats are nothing by comparison.

Shopping is too important to let a few killjoys ruin it for you.

you can never be 100% sure but are you going to lock yourself indoors for the rest of your life?

It doesn't mater if its safe or not, if you are too scared to go about your normal daily lives then THEY have won! Don't let them!

deadman
London isn't quite Beirut just yet.

You are more likely to get run over crossing the road than being blown up.

If you don't go to Selfridges, the terrorists win, they want you to be scared.

Go for it, it'll be fine!

Its a worry to everyone that visits London now, i live in London and i think about it but you just have to carry on and go to Selfridges otherwise those evil people have won. You will be safe, don't worry, just enjoy yourself and enjoy selfridges!!

pienk007
Dear, if it's your time to go, you will go. Even if it means tripping in your bathroom and bumping your head.

Life goes on. At least if something happens while shopping you will die happy :-)

BUT: Don't be stupid. If you see something that doesn't look right, alert the relevant people.

Don’t worry…in england they try to don’t think about it and keep on to do all whatpeople want to do without thinking….

salforddude
If you start worrying about stuff like that they have won.
Compared to the 30 odd years that IRA operated this bunch of "terrorists" are rank armatures, though I do worry what would happen if this bunch were trained up by the irish. At least they didnt do the suicide thing

You know what? No, it's sooo risky. Never put a foot in London ever again (and leave all the clothes for me). And by the way, never go to New York. Ever. And Madrid? No way, it´s like Afganistan and Irak, all in one. Thinking about ever spending your holidays in Bali? Better spending them in a shark's mouth. You know, that will show Bin Laden, yes.

luddite
For goodness sake!
