The Isle of Man is quite close. Definitely desert-like.

Yes you could go to Rice Pudding Island or Fruit Salad & Ice Cream Island

Buy your desserts from a confectioner in Wigan, or Morecambe Bay?

Put yourself into a bottle and get someone to throw it into the sea and hope you are lucky

I'd like to live on a dessert island too. A creme brulee or sticky toffee island would be nice.

Why not just pick one of the many places that England conquered, er, um, I mean colonized long ago? England hasn't quite lost ALL of her colonies yet, have they?

Puffin Island,North Wales is vacant I believe.

Try Unst! That is the original inspiration for Treasure Island.............. RLS was born on the island............. and there are no trees of any size there...........(plenty of fish and birds, though)
