Hitchin - is a lovely town in Hertfordshire. 32 mins by train to London, it is far enough yet close enough from the captial to have its own identity. House prices are expensive but the town offers an excellent night life + numerous ( probably 30+ ) restaurants including Indian, Chinese, Italian, French, Mexican, Thai, Austrialian.

There are a couple of Hostels in & around the town.

Go to Scotland their currency is The Giro.
Dont come to Wales, we got enough on giro's as it is.

let me see now. has to be Newcastle, it has the friendliest people, the biggest city centre mall in the country and the biggest mall in Europe on the doorstep, its 10Min's from the coast, it has the best nightlife in the country bar non, the property prices are not too bad but rising, jobs are plentiful....you cant do better...

Thats exactly what I'm trying to do!! Originally from Wales but I don't want to go back there - unless it's Pembrokeshire. I've been looking on the Rightmove site. Just enter what you think you can afford and the type of place you're looking for and just search through the areas. I wouldn't mind the south - west somewhere although I'm looking as far up as Shropshire. You could also try flatshare sites if you want a cheaper option. You'd have the added bonus of knowing a couple of people when you move then. Good luck.

Im not from there but, i agree, Yorkshire, the jobs arent too bad there, renting is cheap, there are plenty of hostels in Leeds.

the people are really friendly and I have no doubt that in ten years time you could have a great network of friends and maybe even your own family.

i know someone who relocated there and has all of this. I even have built up a good network of friends there just from visiting.

Promise you, Its a beautiful place, Halifax, Leeds, Huddersfield (not so much bradford)

Go up north - somewhere like Leeds. It's cheaper to live up there and just as cool as London but smaller.

So do the Government (oh and me who works average 60 hrs a week just to keep a roof over my head) also support free moves/transfers to nicer/better places, to people who dont have jobs?

mmmm Must pack up work, go on the dole and move to....!!

Depends what you are looking for, but anywhere up North is nomore that 1 hours drive from any of the national parks. Also house prices are cheaper as well.
