This is a difficult question to answer as I have found out that staying in the South of England is more expensive than the North, but in saying that you have the best of the weather and I think the most scenic but than I have only been in the UK for 5yrs. |

I can suggest you one thing regarding learning of English...!Your wife can now learn English frpom her home...!A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the Internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of on line courses, which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt |

It all depends on what you want and what you value in a place of residence. Lots of shops and conveniences, hustle and bustle, nature, peace and quiet, lowlands or mountains? If you add a comment and tell us what you're looking for, we're better able to help you. |

A recent survey showed Winchester in Hampshire as being the best City to live. The downside is the cost of housing there! |

Damn right Sherona B - we do.
Thats because we've been invaded by a load of free-loading, thieving little gits who roam the streets hassling you for spare change, mugging our old folk, and forming sordid little ghettoes in some of our more pleasant seaside towns, terrorising the locals in the process.
Our government then spends vast wads of our taxes on feeding, clothing and housing them and their massive broods of grubby children, while our pensioners die in their droves every winter becuase they can't afford to turn the heating on, and our homeless are left to fend for themselves.
Thats why we don't like immigrants.
If GH-S has a job and is going to make a contribution to our economy or, at the very least, is able to support himself and his family without the assistance of our welfare state, then he will be welcomed. If he's coming here to sponge, he'll have a very frosty reception.
GH-S..........if you're coming here to work rather than sponge, aim for one of the larger cities. London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol all have excellent work prospects for the right person and are all exciting places to live in or near. Similarly, all of them are within striking distance of some stunningingly beautiful countryside. |
