For my Mum's 50th I got her a day in a spa, massage, manicure, pedicure and facial. She really loved it. My Dad took her on a cruise the day after so she was all shiney and beautiful for her holiday. She had a great time.

I would say get her pampered and take her away for the weekend after. How about Edinburgh or Prague? Some great deals on Easyjet at the moment.

Godd luck, I hope it goes well.

How about having a party and Invite people from your past...people you havent seen in years that would bring back your younger days..she would love that and be surprised.

Take her dancing?? Maybe it will make her feel young...some ppl r sensitive about the big 5-0 so make her have fun and enjoy herself. Good luck

if you are in bristol and don't want to travel far, what about a spa day in bath followed by a romantic meal?? all women love to be pampered!!
york is gorgeous if you fancy further afield, or how about the scilly isles? take her over by helicopter for an extra treat....

We women like to be treated as women. For our birthdays we don´t want to be wives, mothers or what ever we do for a living. So, treat her like when you were trying to woo her. Send her flowers, give her her favorite perfume, take her out to eat to a place she likes, take a bubble bath with her with soft music, dance with her, go on activities like horse back riding, romantic picnics and walks though nice places. Give her lots of hugs and kisses, tell her you love her, make tender love to her...romance her. And because is her 50th Birthday give her something that she can keep (music, jewelry, picture of you two) something she can say "my husband gave me this on my 50 th B-day".

Pay her a few days in a great spa
prepare a special breakfast in bed, with flowers, music and something delicious to eat
send her letters or postcards from different places
ask people she hasn't seen for long that give her a call
make her a photo story
digitalize all her photos and make a PPoint presentation
redecorate her room
rearrange the garden with a lot of new plants and flowers
if you're creative enough, write a poem or a song.
If you're going to travel, surprise her with messages or small presents everywhere.
