The UK is not a Country but a Union of,
England,
Scotland,
Wales
and Northern Ireland,

The Country you are from is England,

Grey Mare
England is your country. United Kingdom is an association of four nation states, namely England, Scotland, Wales, and Ulster (Northern Ireland).

Your Nationality is English.
England is part of the United Kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
A person may administratively be labelled a British citizen, but that is not their nationality.

United Kingdom is not a country. England is a country. I sincerely hope you are not actually from London because in that case you should know this.

Your from England, England is the country and the United Kingdom is the collection of countries/isles (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales) which make up Great Britain.

England is a country.

UK is a collection of countries (Its too eatly for me to think of its proper name)

But you are a citizen of the United Kingdom. But any aplications you do should say England

Both are correct. London is the Capital of England and also the Capital of UK.

UK comprises, Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England.

You are English and from England - only thanks to our Government you are no longer allowed to be. You now have to be British and from Great Britain. You can no longer put English on any official forms. Even though we have to be British and from the United Kingdom (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland & Wales) it is still O.K. for the Welsh to be Welsh, the Scots to be Scotish and the Irish to be Irish, we are just no longer allowed to be English and from England.

both, your country of birth is England, but as that is not a nation state (wrong way around EC above). The nation state is the UK, comprsing of 4 countries as one Nation. your legal status is as a UK citizen

BIG D
Depends on where you were born or your parentage.
My folks were from Dublin but I have lived here all my life.
I count myself as British.

Who exactly are the English anyway ?

EC
Rating
england is not a country but a "STATE" politically speaking, the country you are from is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
