If you are English, will the current threats by the CNLA put you off taking a holiday in Cornwall?

No, but then again, as I am lucky enough to live in Italy.....

Mind you, I did once go to the loo in Looe.

Jason
No i will not holiday in cornwall, hit them where it hurts, in the pocket.
I don't go to scotland for the same reason.
Only the English put up with this kind of discrimination.

No we (collectively) have lived through campaigns by the IRA, UDA, Welsh Nationalists, ETA and numerous other terrorist campaigns - I dont think this will put anyone off

Oh come on, lets face it if they're not too busy 'looking for the answers in the soil' then we'll see them coming courtesy of their pointy heads!

Besides, the pace of life is so slow down there that by the time they're organised the Summer holidays will be over, not to mention that if the weather's nice they'll all be far too busy sunbathing on the beach, fishing or hiking the car parking charges up to extortionate levels.

Stop at the Tamar bridge and spend your money in Devon!!!
I can't think of any other significant revenue stream that the Cornish have besides tourism? If they lost that then houseprices would plummet ...... but ...... they still wouldn't be able to afford them?? What an enigma! Maybe the CNLA should accept that people generally have the freedom to live where they choose? Or should the CNLA stop Cornish men and women crossing into mainland England? Maybe they start with their own members? This smacks of the Brothers of Glendower! A little juvenile and ultimately pointless and usually brewed up in the pub on a Saturday night when the English BBC and ITV haven't bothered to put anything decent on the box? I wish their cause success out of sympathy knowing that their membership probably wouldn't fill a 'phone box. And if they get their heads punched by an irate holidaying Brummy or Scouser after damaging their cars then they can't say they haven't been warned! As they say in the Basque region ...... creme de menthe and power to your tiddy oggy ;-)

until they actually do something serious and not just make threats its not going to worry most people too much

anyway, how will they know how is Cornish and who isn't?! coming from rural Oxfordshire, I speak with a vaguely west-country accent anyway, how will they know Im not local!

Terrorism. In Cornwall. Frankly, if the Welsh aren't bombing Britain, what have the Cornish got to complain about? Christ, have your own parliament, have your own country. Does it really matter? CNLA. Another originally named terrorist group. I'm quaking in my boots. Hahaha, watch them make London go nuclear now. I've got a hat all ready for eating.

No way. The sad thing about this story is that it's given free publicity to a stupid group that's giving genuine Cornish folk a bad name. I know loads of Cornish people and the only thing they don't like about the tourist season is the increase in traffic which makes day to day journeys for them a nightmare. They know that the tourist trade is their bread n butter.

Do the CNLA actually exist? I've never heard of them before (Apart from this morning), Mebyon Kernow is Cornwalls 'freedom' party. What are the CNLA going to do? Add Salt to Steins food as it leaves the kitchen? I find it all funny really, what is Cornwall going to achieve by being it's own country other than a lot of pointless hassle?

Don't really understand what the fuss is about anyway, Padstow isn't exactly the nicest place unless you like industrial units on the harbour side and small passenger ferries chugging diesel fumes into the air. No threat or stupid actions would put me off visiting, after all, it's only a minority.

They aren't the IRA are they. Apart from graffiti and flag burning what more have they really done? 1980 exploded a bomb at the courthouse in St. Austell, the result was a slightly damaged judges robe. The only arson they have done was to burn down a hairdresser (they believed it to be a bank) and Zodiac Bingo Hall in Redruth. The most serious crime would be that they placing broken glass under the sand at Portreath Beach in 1984.

I can't believe that they even quoted as saying that they have help from the Welsh. Although the only thing the Free Wales Army did was paint lots of odd shaped crosses. The burning of people house, after the FWA was disbanded, hardly stopped people living there.

Cornwall would be extremely poor it it was for the tourist money they bring in, no really economy since the tin mines closed. If they want an independent nation let them have it but not if my taxes helps there dole money.
