To be honest, I can't think of anywhere in the UK that appeals to me! I'd much prefer to get out of this country.
It's not the climate, or the people, or the countryside, after all it's because it rains so much that everything is so green. No - I'm just sick to death of the huge level of greed from government - just about the highest petrol prices anywhere - rising personal tax - speed cameras - congestion charges - V.A.T. - dental charges even though we already pay for this through our National Health contributions.
Sure, other countries are taxed too, but I can't surely be the only one that feels like he's being taxed to the hilt so that foreign people can come here, milk us for benefit, send the money home then clear off?
You are very welcome to come and move into my house in the Gloucestershire hills once I've managed a way out of this doom! |

I'm from Northern Ireland and I'm happy enough here, but if I was to move, it would be to Cornwall, as it is such a beautiful place and the people are lovely. |

I did my time in Islington: cycling to work at Marble Arch.
Fun when I was younger, but it just got too noisy, crowded and dirty (or I got less tolerant of such)
I moved to what looks like being my perfect spot six months ago.
East Cornwall, on the edge of Bodmin Moor.
I don't need nightclubs and big cities, at my age.
And the internet has increased the ability to "stay in touch" from little villages, which helps considerably. |

Somewhere by the beach like Torquay. Although I also like it where I am in the countryside in the West Midlands cuz its very picturesque, think rolling hills, huge open fields, woodlands, spectacular views. Especially nice @this time of year. |

I've always fancied living in one of those Mews you find dotted around South Ken/Belgravia/Mayfair - little oases in the centre of London...but that's going to take a substantial lottery win though!
Until then, I'm quite content in South London. |

Possibly the most beautiful place in the world. |

Where and who with? I think Tenterden in Kent sounds good and with whom? With someone on here but I won't mention her name.
At the moment I live in greater London. |

Here on the Llyn Peninsula in rural Welsh speaking North Wales....I've lived here for 53 years, I can't see me living anywhere else.
I'd HATE to live in a city...English or Welsh.
Why the thumb-down? I was asked for my opinion and I gave it. |

all the fun of london but none of the extortion, rudeness and black snot
only 10 mins from all the fun of the city centre but with a village green and all the benefits of a peaceful village life
it doesnt get any better than that in england

I couldn't care less if it meant being with my bf. I am in Southampton and he is in Barrow-in-Furness :o( We are saving for a deposit on a flat so we can be together, but he might be going to Plymouth for work, so we may end up there! |

I would live in the large town of Bedford .
This is because it is got the highest amount of different nationalities and cultures of people around (per sq km )
There is quite alot to do here and if its not your cup of tea London, cambridge , MK and Birmingham are both half hours to an hours drive away
There are good train links to all over britain
crime is reasonably low
house prices arent as high as London
the people are friendly , there are plenty of jobs
Its has good schools and healthcare
Its got a city life in some parts of the town with shops and luxury apartments
and its also got quiet life in some areas with country houses and rolling fields.
WHATS NOT TO LIKE ! ? |

I live in Islington, not all of it is cool
If I had a choice, I'd live near the Ferme Park Road in Haringey - any intact Victorian house in Finsbury Park would do actually |
