Hi, I love America and Americans. I think we have a great relationship with your country but I am English, I was born here and will stay for the rest of my life.
I will try to give you an idea of the best parts of England, which is part of the British Isles.
England is really interesting with lots of history and great places to visit.
Although we are a small country there are lots of areas all with their own attractions and scenery.
I will try to give you a few ideas. The Lake District is in Cumbria, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Dove cottage was the home of William Wordsworth, one of our greatest poets and is in the Lake District.
We have loads of castles and historical buildings.

If you want fun then come to the North of England, and visit Blackpool is a seaside town, and it is a bit like Coney Island.

Another place is a theme park. Alton Towers.

Also we have Cornwall and Devon in the south of the country, with some of the lovliest beaches of anywhere.

As well as all this there lots of real old English villages.
The Cotswolds are particularly pretty and quaint,

I hope all this gives you some ideas of what we have here. Also it may interest you to know that wherever you are in Britain you are never more than 75 miles from the coast, and our coastline is spectacular.!!! :-D

ENGLAND!!!
America is a lovely country but I couldn't handle the ignorance and arrogance of the people AND the lack of culture and history. |

I live in America, and personally, I like it. England is very beautiful and has a vast and interesting history. America is big, but I think historically, we are just short of the " Magna Carta "...in a figurative..chronological sort of way. Living here is going to change drastically... soon...so..if given a choice...it depends on if you want to participate in the first great social upheaval of the 21st century; or in a more stable society. |

Why England? Scotland is much better - I have been to America and they love Scottish people and our history - |

I would rather live in England. It has been around longer and has loads more to see, especially in London. |

I also live in America but have traveled through Great Britain extensively. Both countries have benefits and drawbacks, certainly. Where would I live permanently? America. But I'd happily travel in England again, perhaps even live there for a time. You haven't explained why a vacation or several months to a year living there wouldn't answer your question better than anyone else here. Go for it. |

Scotland, I'm asuming by England you mean the united kingdom. I love it here and have visited America but still prefer Scoland, If i could choose to live anywhere it would be Australia or NZ.
But no offence you couldn't pay me enough to move to America! My aunt uncle and cousins emmigrated to the States and my cousins left a year later they hated it, I know not all states are the same but i love Scotland |

America!!! Seems to me that the people in England are very judgemental and base their judgements on personal (often prejudicial) feelings rather than fact....I wouldn't live anywhere else, but the USA!!! We might be fat and stupid (haha according to some judgemental British), but we have awesome teeth!! ;) |
