You should come up here to Scotland!

*Edit* What's wrong with Scotland? I wasn't refering to bombers etc etc! I just think it is such a beautiful country with a very interesting and gory past - the castles and palaces are fantastic as well as the scenery in the Highlands and islands. Absolutely breathtaking!

I would definately visit Bath and see the roman baths theres. There is some nice surrounding countryside in that area also. Chedder gorge and Glatonbury cloe by.

There a some real gems in cornwall locked away from time. Mevagissy and Mousehole spring to mind.

The Lake District to the North and Liverpool is definately worth a vist. Of course you will probabyl go to London but I would avoid it like the plague personally.

Other nice places are Snowdonia in Wales the Scottish Highlands and Edinburgh is a great city also.

there are some great places to go it depends what your looking for alot of people tend to go to london lots of things to see there if you want scenery scotland is beautiful bit cold there at the bottom cornwall is beautiful aswell and would be warmer but anywhere you go there is something historical to see and lots of atmosphere aswell hope you enjoy your stay here

Many Americans like to visit Stratford on Avon (William Shakespeare's home). You could take in the theatre there.
Ignore the suggestions about Mosside and St.Paul's Bristol, etc. It's a wind-up! Although Bristol has some interesting tourist attractions - Brunel's bridge, "The Matthew", etc.
If you repost about the sort of things you like to do and see, if you like Cities and architecture, or prefer the country/seaside areas, I'm sure people here will respond.
Once you've chosen your area, you can contact the Tourist Information Offices (on line) for that area and they will be able to tell you about things to see and do, plus advice about accommodation.

come visit Scotland

DoctressWho
Depends what you want, it is a small country compared to America, but it is big enough to spend a lot of time travelling.
London is great, but it is vastly different from many other parts of the UK.
Scotland has some beautiful unspoilt scenery,
I live in Bedfordshire England, and haven't seen all there is to see in this county.
You really are spoilt for choice so decide what you want to do, and make your plans from there.

Visit the North East of England. Newcastle upon Tyne is a friendly city. Great museums, art galleries, theatre, parks, pubs, restaurants. The Quayside area is worth visiting. Staying here you will be close to some great coast line, and countryside. Plenty of castles and stately homes to see. A short train journey to York & Durham, with great cathederals. Also a short train ride into Scotland. It can be a little colder than the rest of England, but the welcome is always warm.

I Think ???
Come to Liverpool, UK next year, we are the European Capital of Culture for 2008 and there are lots of special events being organised to celebrate the occasion. Do a search for " European capital of culture" and read all about it, I will even give you a personal tour of our great city, you'll have a great time.

London is nice, so is bath. if you have the chance definitely check out some castles Leeds is pretty cool, and Scotland is nice, if you are interested in WW II hellfire corner in Dover is cool . It all depends on what you want to see and how long you are going to be there.

why the hell would you want to visit the uk......it's a burning acidic pit of desperation, disgust and deceit.....well it's your choice i suppose, but countryside destinations are usually quite nice or seaside if you're a lively person.....it depends on you really.
