well england might be known for being cold and having bad weather. but londons really not the arctic. just wear what ever you would where you live in the winter. alot of people tuck there trackies into footy socks, and where a long top with a short but uffy hooded coat. boats are quite in. urmm .. maybe skinny jeans. you can get away with anything really.

Wool sweaters (jumpers) are big - wool is used for
a lot of clothing. And a good medium weight jacket
is sufficient in most cases - you don't need some
huge anorak or parka with thick insulation as
you would in the northern reaches of North
America or Scandinavia

The average mean temperature here in London in the Winter months of January and February is about 40 - 45 Farenheit - above freezing, but sometimes chilly and cold. We do get the occasional "cold snap" as we call it, when there might be a sharp frost or even snow for a few days, but nothing much to worry about.

LONDON use to have very very worm winter things even much better than the U S A but if you notices I say use to because I have Immigrated from there a while now and things changed all over the world altho when my children came here they are still looks very good, but if you are going on vacation just take all the winter things you have here because winter there is worst than here so bring all your winter things from here but you will like it there.
Where there are you going? If you are going for vacation, then you should go in the summer but if you are going for a while then it would not matter @ all you will like it there any way. Enjoy your self and GOOD LUCK TO YOU ( DUCK.) If you was a guy then I would say
GOOD LUCK TO YOU ( MATE ) Good luck to you my dear & a safe
trip

definitely bring a very warm WATERPROOF rain coat. It will rain.

Depends on where you're from - London isn't terribly cold, as in snowy and ice-covered rivers, but it's damp and chilly in Winter, even moreso than in the Summer.

Just wear something warm, preferably not with "USA" written on it or any USA flags or glaringly bright sportswear, not unless you want to look like a typical American tourist. Just get a nice coat and a groovy scarf and boots, same as you'd wear in New York. Leave out the A&F though, that's about 3yrs out of fashion here.

for me the main issue is the wind: there is always a breeze and in winter it can make it realy cold and raw. so hat scarf and gloves are a must!it does not rain as much as people think!

Where are you coming from? A hot desert place, or the north of England?
If from the warm place, a lot of warm cloths, if the north, just as you would at home.

Wear whatever you want, as long as it's warm and waterproof.
Oh, no backpacks, especially on the Tube.
