EITHER will do ! Although I am sure the Scots and the Welsh would prefer you to use United Kingdom.

CLIVE H
UK or England - both are acceptable. For example : -

Mr & Mrs A.N.Other
31.5 Mitre Lane
The Lawns
Bellington-on-sea
Whenshire
England

When I am writing to the Relations in England I Put Down , United Kingdom on the Envelope.

personal preferance is up to you. I prefer UK but either way it will get here im sure.

Stephen S
As long as they don't live in Scotland, Wales or Northen Ireland. Put down England. The UK is for politicians.

England,
UK

That is the correct way to address your letter
Or you could put,

England,
Great Britain.
Which would be equally correct.

If you just put England It will still get here as everyone knows where England is!!

younosygit
Use the name of the country in the local language - the most important thing is to tell the postal workers in the country you're posting the letter where it's supposed to go to! I've sent letters to "Grande-Bretagne", "Grossbritannien", "Groot Britannie", "Storbritannia", and "Velikibritannia". Once it reaches the UK, no-one cares what you called the country.

stepney_lad
England, most people who oppose the term are normally foreigners, including the Welsh, Scots etc.

If you are sending post to an address in England, why should you put UK.

before all you London haters give it the thumbs down, explain why.

You will require the correct post code and you can use either England or United Kingdom.
I personally use England !

Ruth F
It doesnt matter, whenever ive been abroad sending letters back home i think ive put

England
United Kingdom.

Make sure the post code is right.

JJ
Doesn't matter - it'll get there either way! Having the correct postcode is more important.
